My shopping for Xmas 06 started on 26th December 05. Have a small cupboard at top of the stairs bursting with presents for Xmas, birthdays, mothers day (I know its gone) etc. Hubby cant understand why we seem to spend more in February than in December. Sometimes go a little mad and overbuy but usually offload my surplus to friends who want to save a little money.

Keep an eye open in Wilkinsons - they reduce lots of their stuff throughout the year to 25% off then 50% off then 75% off and if you are really lucky 99% off but this figure is never advertised (you only get it at the till). Bought my little boy a football last year expecting to pay 50p (75% off) and the cashier asked me for 2p (went back and got another one!!).

    Happy shopping.

    Wow! Now that's what I call a real bargain!:D

I always buy next years Christmas cards from Boxing Day onwards, when Tescos flog them off cheap. (Plus the shop is vertially empty on Boxing Day). I have all the cards, tags and wrapping paper I need hidden away upstairs in Santa's Secret place.;) I also go to M&S after Christmas, who sell their lovely handmade cards half price (for parents, daughters, sons, grandparents etc). I'm all kitted out. Now all I need are the presents..... the expensive bits.....;) I tend to do most of my shopping in Boots and take advantage of their 3 for 2 presents - brilliant when you've got 3 kids. The points notch up quickly too.

Gosh I feel so disorganised. Last Xmas I was so late doing my cards that I didn't send any and the year before posted them on Boxing Day. I will def make a better effort this year and with all your good suggestions start buying presents now. Thanks all

For the first time ever I have finished my Xmas shopping by June except one item ( a cheese board with wine).

When I found this site I decided to become more time efficient and bought mainly from sales, wrapped the pressies and they are all now in boxes in the loft. I dont have young children but older ones are just as expensive and sometimes more difficult to buy for. My grandchildren are all getting a pig from Pigsback with money in aswell to help them to start saving.

Unbelieveably I can walk around the shops and not buy a single thing because I realise now that I really dont need 'things' all the time.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
