try lexmark site for windows 7 compatible drivers.0

See http://support.lexmark.com/index?segment=DOWNLOAD&userlocale=EN_UK&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_P6250&page=recommendedDownloads#1. You need to use the vista drivers and install them before connecting printer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Lucky for you then, I don't like them, neither does your PC....Quit before you waste your cash on inks.0

hi tried downloading drivers but came up with this result
The vista drivers on the lexmark website do not contain the all-in-one center. They are minimum drivers.Although the scan drivers are shipped with the web package, they cannot be used by the All-in-one center since it is not included.please use windows Scanners and cameras or photo gallery for scannig
does this mean there are,nt any compatable drivers, cant find scan drivers.
Dont really want to quit and have to buy a new printer when this one worked fine on my xp machine thanks0 -
The second part is simply telling you to use the Windoze Scanning and Camera Wizard.
Download the printer drivers, they should work.
Lexmark really are pretty crap.
If you can find the equivalent DELL model then their might be an all in one driver for that (Lexmark make Dell's printers)Gus.0 -
Hello all thank you for the advice so far.
Have tried to update the drivers but to no avail.
Since trying this i have had 2 error messages
1.0xc0000006 seems this is HP error
2.0x80070005 seems this stops any updates ,also get this message when i do a system restore (which i cannot do )
Have googled both and always downloads regcure which will repair after payment .
Have seen posts mentioning malwarebytes would this solve my problem.
Pc is only 10 days old. HP pavilion, os windows 7
please could someone advise me how to repair errors (not over confident in what i am doing ,dont want to make matters worse)
many thanks n&h0 -
Right then, I have Win 7 64bit, and a Canon i560 and an HP Laserjet 1320.
I spent a fair time trying to find suitable drivers, including weird drivers from the Canon site, here's how I eventually managed it.
Make sure the printer is connected and turned on, also assuming using usb.
Go to 'Devices and Printers', then 'Add printer', then 'Add local printer', then 'Use existing port'.
Click the down arrow at the end of the box, and select 'usb001' virtual printer port.
Click 'Next', then click the 'Windows update' box, and let it find the driver.
It may take a while, but it found the correct drivers for both of mine.
The Canon was first and a bit trial/error, but the HP was fine using the above method.
The preference pages for the printers look slightly different to the genuine software CD stuff, but all the options look to be present.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
