Homebase seem to have loads stacked by the tills. Well the one in Kensington anyways, may be worth a punt.0

Lots of dry cleaners/DIY/tool hire outlets - ring round.0

Johnsons dry cleaners have a hirable cleaner system called Rug Doctor, if I recall correctly.0

Yes, Johnsons the Cleaners do hire out Rug Doctor machines. I have hired one before and was delighted with the results. I don't know how to put in a link however If you google Rug Doctor their site allows you to enter your address or postcode and will then show you the suppliers in your area,0

I am also thinking of hiring a Rug Doctor.. our local Morrisons supermarket has a dry cleaners (their own I presume) inside and they can be hired there. I can't remember exactly how much it costs, but I recall GF mentioning it was a good deal as you get enough shampoo to clean 8 rooms (not sure what they base their measurements on though!)

If you really want to have your carpets cleaned properly dont hire a rug doctor or any other similar machine.
Hire a proffesional in, the rug doctors do not extract the soap and leave it behind and ur carpets get dirtier quicker.

Post number 14 shows a video as to why not to use a rug doctor or similar machine.

I second Richard's comment. Hire someone, a 3 bed house from around £100 done with much better, industrial standard, machines.
I've tried both methods (several times) and the "man in a van" has always been much better.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Yes deffo, just google Truck mount carpet cleaning and then your area.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0

I dont know about this - someone I know who used to work self employed for a carpet cleaning firm said that the several hundred pound carpet cleaning machine (with carpet beater bar) that I bought from Argos does a much better job than his equipment and chemicals.
If you can afford it and you think you may use it a couple of times a year, then consider buying your own.0
