You put me to shame with all your ebaying! I must, must, must get motivated and list the box of stuff I sorted out.

Seriously, you are doing so well....lovely to catch up with your diary.

    Morning!

Have been avoiding writing my diary as know I haven't been doing well!

Good news is that I have stuck to my ebaying and have made over £100 in last month. I'm only listing CD's at the mo, mostly for 99p, so not much profit, but making space at home. ;)

My confession is that I have lent a friend £1000. She is a very good friend and was in dire need! I knew that she needed this money more than me but still keep thinking I could have used it to pay off my debts. I actually borrowed £600 from my kids accounts and £400 from mine, so only £400 down. I know she will pay me back when she can, but I think when you lend money you have to be prepared not to get it back so am prepared to eventually pay the kids back myself if necessary, but not adding it to my debts yet!!!;)

My tax credits also reduce by three quarters this month, as 2 years ago I was off sick on half pay for half the year so my earnings were limited. Since been back at work, my earnings are good, so it will reduce the tax credits.:( On the bright side, dd no4 will start full time school nursery in September and I don't pay childcare in Summer holidays as lovely sister who is a teacher has the kids when I'm at work, so no more childminding fees from mid July! :T This will cover the money I'm down on tax credits, so just need to get through next few months.

Got 2 weeks off for Easter to spend time with kids and have a rest..... Think it'll probably be expensive. We are going to London for a night - £9 travelodge room and I have a Merlin pass so we'll go to Madame Tussards, London Eye etc, but still got to eat and pay the train fare:( Still feel we deserve a treat so going totry and be positive.

Good news - kind of- is that I have been a little low for last couple of days but I have resisted the temptation of retail therapy! I know this may not sound much, but when I was doing my grocery shopping yesterday, I had the idea of buying the kids new outfits for Easter and got as far as picking things for the 2 younger ones, when common sense prevailed and I walked away:D

My home insurance is due soon, so need to look for better quote, no motivation at the moment but hopefully I'll get round to this before it's due, as dh still not on board and really not a priority for him! :(

Happy Easter everyone - glad Easter eggs were so well priced this year!
Proud to be dealing with my debts,

  • Glad you're back - :T

Hope you're ok honey, anything particular happened or you just feeling down?

You did soo well resisting the clothes though sweetie, keep it up!

    Cuckoo. xx

Oh and as for your friend, there's always people worse off than ourselves, and if you can help and are prepared to, thats ace - like you said though, write it off in your head - then if you do get it back it'll be a bonus. Better to do it that way than to cause resentment between you and a good friend. You're a very kind person. xx

  • HI Cialilerin

Don't you just love those Merlin passes - my daughter and grandchildren have them (as did mine when they were growing up). They are a life saver for cheap days out (pack a picnic, petrol and that's it!)

You are an amazing friend - I'm glad you have 'written off' the money in your head as it's not worth losing a friend if for any reason she can't/doesn't pay it back. Don't worry about the slight setback - it's worth it, you know it and you feel better for being there to support when needed.

Well done on the ebaying (still hanging my head in shame over here).

Enjoy the two weeks leave - enjoy your children (they don't stay that way for very long).

And finally - thank you so very much for being so supportive in my journey to become debt free - it's really lovely knowing we are plodding through the highs and lows together and can support each other.

    Take care

That's what I'm hoping for as well, although in all honestly I was nearly out the door before I remembered most shops would be shut- really wanted to buy a couple of new books :o

    Hope you're having a lovely weekend :)
