Strange icon on broadband status screen

I'm hoping you wonderful people could help me work something out. When I click on my broadband connection status to see what I have sent and received in a session, it usually looks like this:



On one session this afternoon, however, there was a little icon of a lock next to the tick. I've never seen it before and it hasn't reappeared since. Does anyone know what on earth it might be?

Means you have activaed windows firewall. nothing to worry about, but it is a pain in the backside :-)

Thanks. Funny, I guessed it could have been that, but totally discounted it as I haven't touched the Windows firewall at all (don't worry, I use other firewall software). Oh dear, now I'd better find out why the firewall wanted to switch itself on all of a sudden!

Cos windows likes to whatever it wants when it wants. just go to my computer my network places then view network connections.

right click on the connection and go to properties then advanced and turn it off there.
