Hi everyone and thanks for your time, Im not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes. I recently got married and after a relatively short period we have found ourselves going separate ways. Three years ago i purchased my parents house to enable them to stay where they are for the foreseeable future. I have asked for advice from the citizens advice bureau and am still none the wiser but i believe that she is now entitled in part to everything i own including my property bought before the marriage. If this is true would it be possible to transfer the title deeds to my brother/sisters name and so protect my self from her taking me to the cleaners? So i don’t sound too harsh can i say i have in the past 1 and a half year put nearly 7000 pounds into her accounts and received about 700 into mine i know that we are in it together but i have paid all her bills and housed her in another house with me since being married?
Thanks for any advice
Andy

Im sure I read somewhere that what you alone bring to the marriage is counted as yours on divorce.

My dad was married twice. With his first wife he purchased a house, and when they divorced he maintained his share in it by continuing to make his half of the payments. When my mum and dad divorced (dad's second wife) the judge ruled that in order for my dad to prevent the house with his first wife being considered, that he would need to take a smaller percentage of the profit from the sale of the house that he and my mum owned. Dont know if that is useful?0
