Hi, had an email from Centerparcs which confirmed that they no longer use discount codes - best available prices for early bookers/returners
The one thing I would definitely recommend doing though is searching for better/bigger accommodation than what you actually need. I was looking at a 2 bed woodland lodge and the 3 bed was £40 cheaper! The prices for each type of accommodation go up as the availability for that villa drops so worth looking at all types.
I want to go in half term Feb but it's just so expensive then!!0 -
Thank you Rosewhite, i'll take a look at the bigger lodges. Good tip! Hope you manage to get away at half term.0

Suggest you look at going to one of the centreparcs in europe, was a post MSE stpry recently that it works out somewhat cheaper. Sorry cannot find the thread
Just an idea0 -

The European ones are cheaper and often work out much cheaper as the Dutch and Belgians have different school holidays to us. We've done it a few times and saved a fortune. It's just a pity the exchange rate is rubbish nowadays, a few years ago the savings were even bigger. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
One thing I do suggest is checking the school calendar. In Wales, sometimes the half term breaks are earlier/later than the English schools & seeing most holiday campanies base their price hike around it we're sometimes lucky to get a break much cheaper cos the breaks over the border have been! I've got a break booked for the Easter Monday week in 2011 as my kids are off school then & the price hike as been so I've saved £600 & only paid £249 for 4 nights!!!!!
The earlier you book the better the price too. Definately play around with the amount of bedrooms you need cos as the previous poster said more rooms can be cheaper if you book earlier.0 -
I have a Mon - Fri stay booked for centre Parks Whinfell in Feb. Can anyone advise of any tips for making this as economical as I can. I have 2 sons aged 12 and 15 who are both taking a friend. Are the restaurants expensive/ or good. What is the on site superarket like?.
Appreciate any advice or tips
Happy New year to everyone.0 -
I love Whinfell (well its the only one I go to!!) & I find the restaurants priced similar to those in any town/city. The Bella Italia Is lovely, The Lakeside Inn, Sports cafe & Bella Italia tend to get busy between 5 & 7 with families with younger kids so maybe you'd like to avoid it then & go late when the kiddies have gone to bed! (I'm afraid I'm one with the young kids & they can be a bit annoying to other diners I'm sure!). I find the meals in the Sports Cafe in the Plaza lovely too & fast service. In fact I love all the places I've eaten in, like Hucks, Bella italia, Lakeside Inn, the Chinese/indian places. There's a delivery service called DinIng which serve chinese, indian & italian that is great as you don't have to go out & get it (but you can if you wish). The cafe outside the swimming pool can be a bit slow in service but the food is nice.
The supermarket is very well stocked but can be a bit expensive. I usualy take the basics with me like bread, milk, bacon, butter etc. They have a range of pizzas etc in the freezer & everything you need to make your own curry etc. But I tend to eat out most nights cos I save all year to go there & not cook as I'm a SAHM & cook every day so its my time off. You can make it as cheap or expensive as you want to. I think there's a Tesco in Penrith so you could pop in there but I'm sure I read on here that the Morrisons burned down a while ago.0 -
Thanks for that Pinkmami for the good advice. I have not visited here since Centre Parks have owned the site. Do you know if you can use Tesco clubcard voucher there for Bella Italia?0
-
I'm 99% certain they DON'T accept the Tesco vouchers any more. I'm sure I read it on the Clubcard website - better check!0
