Buying Second hand from a dealer/supermarket - extended warranty versus SoGA

  • hey guys, i've just bought a car (today) from evans halshaw and after inquiring about the service history and any maintenance that had been done was shown an 'invoice' from jan09 with a load of jobs on it; new pads and disks all round, cambelt etc and a price after each job. I was actually told by the dealer that this work had been carried out. After buying the car and studying the paperwork i've found that this list was in fact a list of work that NEEDED to be done and the prices were estimates when the previous owner took it for its last service but it was never done and part ex'd 6months later! My question is, do i have any right to return the car or get the work done by the garage as i feel i've been duped by the dealer (although it could've been an honest mistake)! p.s i know i should've studied it all closer before handing over any cash but i'm just stupid!!
  • Hi,
So what is the verdict - is it worth getting Car Giant's AA warrantee or not? We are not cash rich at all and it will be an large outlay - but will it benefit us in the long run? We have not had good luck with cars and know next to nothing about what goes wrong with them. Are we just setting ourselves up for a fall? To get or not?
    thanks
