What is included in an All Inclusive Package?

Hi All,

Currently looking at all inclusive packages for teh last week in september and first week in october.

I've never been on an all inclusive holiday before and was wondering what was included.
I know breakfast, lunch, and evening meal are all included as well as drinks. However, I like my food and particularly my post-breakfast, mid-morning, pre-lunch, post-lunch, pre-dinner, late evening, and bedtime snacks. Are such snacks included in an all inclusive package?

Also is water avaialbe as much as you like? Important to keep well hydrated in these hot climates.

Thanks in advance

You are right in saying your 3 meals and drinks are included.

The ones I have stayed in have had some sort of all day snack facility. Usually either the restaurant or a separate snack bar is open serving fast food and nibbly things! Some have also served snacks at the bar too. Most have snacks early till midnight, or the last hotel had 24 hour snacks!

All the bars and restaurants have served water. The last hotel we stayed in had a fridge in the room that was stocked with bottled water, cans of pop and cans of beer every other day. This was all free and you could take as much as you wanted.

One hotel thought all British people still partake in afternoon tea, so about 4pm they would plonk a huge teapot and cakes by the pool :D

Some hotels prepare packed lunches for you. At ones we have stayed at, if you were out for the day and you could book a packed lunch at reception the night before. These could be picked up at breakfast. They were suprisingly good, and they even put lollies and balloons in the childrens bags! One hotel gave out cool bags with a refundable deposit on them, another gave out paper carrier bags so you could throw it away after eating.

Depending on the hotel, sports may be included too such as tennis, water sports, volleyball etc., and usually a programme of organised daytime activities and evening entertainment.

Don't worry - I'm sure you won't go hungry or thirsty!
Here I go again on my own....

The important thing to remember with all inclusives is that they vary greatly from one to another so check very very closely in the brochure detail as to what is included and when - i.e. some places only give out icecream to kids between 2-4pm, some hotels have snacks available all day whereas others have restricted chow times, so check, check and check again....don't want you going hungry now ;)

As Ali says, the devil is in the detail.
I know of one AI resort where coffee is available from snack bar all day free but if you want to make your own in the room you must hire the lead for the kettle!!

Most AIs stuff you full of grub at all opportunities I think the most common exclusion is imported drinks, local beer is included where imports may have to be paid for. Not really a problem unless you really have to have John Smiths wherever you are in the world. Sometimes drink in on site nightclubs late at night is payable.

AI is great value but do try to have a look outside the compound between snacks :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
We go to one in Crete - food is fab, drinks all day snacks and ice cream all day.

Perfect when you have kids wanting drinks all the time!

:rotfl: I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes my food that much :D

Like everyone else says every hotel All Inclusive package is different and its finding one that suits you. Make sure you read up on the deal before you book to make sure its suitable.

We went to Egypt last year and everything was included, even bottled water, EXCEPT fresh fruit juice. I was really disappointed 'cos I love fresh orange juice with my Vodka

Some hotels have a limit to water - I've just been looking at deals and one hotel only gives you 3 bottles of water a week on AI deals - whats all that about?

Try and find an AI package that does 24hr AI - it sounds like thats what you need. Alternatively, stay in a hotel that has a fridge in your room and take some cake for hungry moments :D

Have a great holliday wherever you go!
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

OUTRAGEOUS!!! What is that all about! I mean, it's not a huge deal if the shops are close and it's cheap but what if you are in the middle of nowhere?!

Forgot to mention it is usually worth looking up the hotel reviews on tripadvisor or holiday truths to see if people felt they got what they paid for.

Have been all inclusive in Cuba and it was fab, lots of food to choose from, snack bar available all day and evening.

Last holiday was Egypt (not all inclusive) and would thoroughly recommend you check out tripadvisor - you get really honest feedback and some supberb useful tips.

    Have a great holiday.

    Thanks for all the replies
Only give ice cream to to kids between 2-4
What about us adults when do we get our ice cream

Quackers, I too like my fresh juice so worth keeping an eye on that one.

The deal I was looking at lately was for an allocated on arrival in Dominican Republic. It sounds like I should double check that everything I'm looking for will be all included

Whereever I end up going I'll defintely leave the resort and sample a local restraunt and local cuisine.

Thanks again for all the information
