Virgin - Help needed. Charging £85.00

Ok short story.
SIL has just been charged £85.00 by Virgin for leaving them. She gave a months notice and has been with them for 11 years and is furious. I am fairly sure that providing the correct notice has been given they are taking the pee. I have told her to fight it.
Anyone else here know about these things??

If she is out of contract there is no cancellation fee.
Did she agree to a new contract in the last year by phoning up to renegotiate her package? Has she asked exactly what the fee is for?0 -
Nope, same package. I think you are right, as she has changed nothing, there should be no cancellation fee.
