New Year's Resolutions 2010: :A
  • Eat healthy
  • Exercise
  • Lose some weight
  • Save money for next academic year
  • Do more ebaying
  • Stay up to date with uni work
I am going to do my very best to save up for things and not just put things on the credit card as it soon adds up! I also need to save up as much money as possible as I am only doing a foundation degree at the moment and to do my top up to a BA I would have to live away from home for a year and I don't want to take any loans.

This year I will be sensible and instead of spend, spend, spend I will save, save, save!

I am doing a Foundation Degree at the moment and if I want to do the top up year to a BA I will have to live away from home for a year and I have just been working out how much this could cost. As I would ideally like a self contained flat or at the very least an ensuite (this is due to health reasons) this pushes the price of accommodation up quite a lot. Plus, I can only access the prices for 2010 so I am sure there will be an increase when I go in 2011. It's probably a good job I started to think about now as my estimate for the year away is £12000

    Accommodation (45 weeks) £6300
    Fees £2000
    Tv license £160
    Food £1000
    Misc. £1000

I just hope I have not missed anything off as that is expensive enough! I have about 19 months to save this so that would be £635 a month  But then I still need to save for my next academic year which for travel and fees will probably be around £2200! But if my maintainence grant does eventually come through I will have more than enough to pay for next year.

I will just have to make sure I become super MSE and save not splurge any extra money. I will make sure I do extra hours during the holidays and ebay any unwanted goods. :A

Anyway, I must dash now as got to prepare my stuff for first day back at uni tomorrow and then plan what I will cook for dinner so I don't just send OH for take out :o

I will be a good MSEr :rotfl:

Well as the weather is so bad all my uni classes have been cancelled! This is probably for the best though as all the buses have been stopped. The snow is very deep and still coming down strong so who knows what will happen with the rest of the week.

So today I must be productive and not just procrastinate online as usual :o I need to get up to date with uni work and then I can concentrate on ebaying and earning more money to add to my savings :A

I will be more focused and disciplined

As I didn't manage to achieve anything today I thought I would set myself a job list for tomorrow to stop the same thing happening. I am hoping that by crossing the jobs off when I have done them will motivate me.

    Jobs for Wednesday:
    Check online banking
    Write up theory notes
    Write up acting classes
    Write up PPD
    Type up Physical Theatre
Plan meals for Weds and Thurs
    Ebay packing

    Jobs for Thursday:
    Type up Acting
    Type up Singing
    Type up Movement
    Write up Stacey M
    Write up Red Ladder

I just need to make sure I stick to my plan and get all my jobs done then I will be up to date with my work and then I can make progress with my reading.

I WILL BE MOTIVATED AND COMPLETE MY JOBS

I am now working Sunday so even though that is good money wise it is not so good for my growing jobs list! I have managed to finish another job tonight but still lots to go and now I just have Sunday night and all day Monday.

I heard at work today that they are planning on reducing peoples hours as we are not as busy and this worries me as I only do about 12 hours a week as it is. I will have to see how things go over the next month and then adjust my budget accordingly.
