the thing is this competition would have actually been really exciting without websites like this. i'm not knocking it as I like to be able to come here and find comps, but I'm just saying without this website the comp prob would have been alot more exciting, rather than everyone getting the same codes and same amount of points.

When I was actually TRYING for this competition, and posting actively in this thread, this is exactly the point I was trying to get across. I've moved on from this anyway and posting elsewhere and entering other competitions, Creme Egg cocked it up from the start, would have been better with nowhere for everyone to get the codes from though, now it's ridiculous cos some of these people are spending hours every day looking for more and failing! Some of us just don't have the time or patience.

Well the simple answer is if you dont like it dont use it.

If you resist the urge to look at this tread then it is like it doesnt exist, and you have your excitement finding them yourself. (I think a lot less people would have bothered with the comp this way)

Personally I think cadbury have a lack of codes in the first place, as if you read through the tread you will see that not everyone has the same amount of points, as for some reason the total differs with the same codes, plus you have to add into account not all codes will be posted on here as some people keep them to them-self.

The point he/she is trying to get across is the fact this thread exists at all. There are LOADS of codes, all found by different people, so if they weren't all posted here, different people would have different codes, and probably not all of them like they do now. So it'd have been more fair, the more you look, the more you get.

If everyone didn't post, not all the codes would be on everyones account then it'd have been a fairly successful competition. As now people are finding some codes, keeping them to themselves AND using all the codes from here. Overall it WOULD have been better without this thread, feel free to argue with that point but I can't see any way you could.

I have looked back at my post and can't see where I've put people are posting saying they are doing this?

I've had PM's, it's also clear this is happening, and also from email correspondence with Cadbury what people are saying about the codes having different values cannot be true as all the top scores have different amounts of each eggs. So some people MUST be keeping codes to themselves, on top of the people who've PM'd me about it.

Just this bit here jaydeebee but perhaps you didn't mean people from mse - it's just that I would feel a bit let down if people were doing this as I have spent a lot of time on this & posted EVERY code I found & even posted right away last week when the comp had a wee glitch to let everyone know

I've never said I'm keeping them to myself, I said I may do it, when I first started actually posting here! I didn't say it was any of you, it's just some people, people who ARE posting the codes, great, it's nothing against you I'd post any I found. It's just this thread overall, for a competition like this, it would have been much better to not have all the codes posted, well none at all. Just letting everyone know the competition exists would have been good. Because now the people that are finding codes elsewhere and already have these codes may have been in the lead etc, they've cocked it up anyway but I was just expressing my opinion and backing up the other user about the fact this competition would have been better for everyone if this thread wasn't created.

Just actually looked back at that post, and you didn't put the fact in your post that after that, a few posts later I put I'm sorry that I said that, I didn't realise what the MSE community is like and I WILL be posting them. Some people...

Another, I also said I'd PM it to people that wanted it, so non-users wouldn't be able to just take codes. Just the way I saw it back then until just after I saw what MSE is about, although I do still think any competition like this, where the whole point is finding codes, you should find codes yourself. Stick with the spirit of the competition and actually make it a competition. It'd have been the same amount of work, just spread out across all the people taking part.

The only issue I can see that someone would have with the thread is that it gives more people the chance to win!

Personally I would like to thank Youngski for posting the comp and all the hard working MSE'ers that have found codes and shared them and MSE'ers that have mind numbingly listed them altogether.

I and others dont agree that faithful Comping MSE'ers PM each other secretly about this or any other comp to gain advantage, maybe thats just our good faith in people on here since we have experience of the comp pages.
