Don't know if anyone else has been in the same position, but I got my son 4200 points as a stocking filler.

He went up to his room later and came down with the card. He'd scratched the panel off with a coin, but 4 of the letters/numbers are not clear at all.

We rang xbox who said there is nothing they can do and suggested trying to fathom the letters/numbers, which we had done for hours!

There is a barcode and some numbers under the panel so we asked if we gave them this info, could they possibly help us, but they said No.

They suggested going back to the retailer (which was GAME) for a refund, but why on earth would they refund us, for all they know we could have entered the number, then damaged it just to get a refund. I can't find the receipt anyway so we couldn't even do that.

Does anyone know if there is anything we can do, as son is gutted because it's £35 down the drain.

Oh dear :-( have heard this has happened to quite a few people. Get your hands dirty in your bins and find that receipt, Game should give you a refund. If you cant find it then just go to game and cry. Sorry i cant suggest anything else. Reckon microsoft should come up with a better idea for their code cards. Send them a nasty email saying that you will not be buying their products again lol

I was thinking of emailing them seeing as we got no joy on the phone.

I may come across the receipt next week when we take the tree and everything down, so fingers crossed! :)

    probably no use.
pop the card into a scanner and..er..scan, once onscreen you should be able to enlarge, adjust contrast etc...which might make it more legible.
If you have no scanner the same may be possible with a decent digital camera on macro (close up) mode

That's a good idea actually, I'll try that later, thank you! :T
