Xbox live gold membership advice

Hi there. My 2 sons have an xbox 360 and am about to buy them another 12 months gold membership. Is there a way around it so that I only have to buy one membership? Or do i have to buy 2, as they each have their own gamertag? They have insisted for the last 2 years that they each need their own, but i am unsure now. They share the hard drive, just have different gamer tags.....so confused

  • Hi Bossymommy,

Unfortunately microsoft are out to get every penny (no family deals), you'll need one per gamertag unless the boys are prepared to share a new tag between themselves.

Do shop around though, the price of 12 months Gold membership varies from £39.99 down to about £32.99 (amazon). You'll need gold if they intend to game on-line.

I think that there is a link when you first sign up to xbox live that gives a months free trial.
    Keep smiling,

Damn! lol. This will be our third year of buying gold membership, and was hoping it wouldnt cost me another £70.00. Yes have been looking around and have just posted on "i wanna buy it/do it", as i found a company that sells them for £25.99. They apparantly email the code to you, but im not so sure if its genuine.........https://gamingmall.com/

I've just (4 days ago) used these guys after a rec on avforums.....only £26, and e-mailed the sheet with the code on in around 10 mins or so....entered, validated, and mini-Gun #2 is now happy as he can shoot the pants off mini-Gun #1 online with a full screen :D

  • The Gamingmall place seems OK. Haven't used it myself, but I've seen recommendations over on AVForums.

There are a few sites like that that will e-mail the code through to you.
