ive been busy today asking questions.
ok, i have 3 harddrives on my pc. The one with the most space is my Vista Drive, however, i hate Vista.
What i want to do is put XP back onto this drive, but when i put in the installation dvd it tells me that the software on the pc is newer that the dvd. So im thinking i have to take off Vista somehow.
ive been into remove progs etc but there is not a Vista remove.
So how do i strip my drive ready to put XP back on.

First, backup anything you wish to keep, then click here.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

Haven't tried going from Vista to XP, but when you boot from DVD (or CD) to install XP then there is usually an option to do a completely new installation ie format the drive and reinstall. If it won't let you do that you'll probably need to reformat the drive then use the installation disk.0

Enter the BIOS and make sure the boot sequence is set to CD/DVD first, then HDD next. That should bring up the Install From CD option.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -
Download DBAN and burn it to a disk. Boot from the disk and you will be able to clear everything from your hard drive. You shouldn't have any problems installing from the XP disk after that.0

Does anyone know where i can buy xp from cheap?
Ive got vista on my tower and i hate it. It came preinstalled with a sticker for the code on the back.
Does anyone have windows 7? what is it like?0 -
The same as Vista with GUI tweaks. Its completely different to XP so you'll still mostly likely hate it.0
