Hi,
Me and my OH have been engaged for a few years now but we've never set a date as i have problem skin. Im 26 and was hoping that by now spots/acne would have stopped by now to just the odd one. But no i still have spots on my face. I get all the different types including awful cyst types ones that never come to a head they just stuck out like a lump and take ages to go down and are quiet painful. Its just the my t-zone where i get them, sometimes i only have a few and think at last clear skin but by the next day i have new spot or 2 come up.
Ive been to the doctors a few times who put me on dianette which was fantastic!! But they took me off again as once the spots go they say its not a good pill to be on so i got put on cilest and my spots came back. Begining of this year i came off the pill completly and i was perscribed a gel type lotion in a rollerball but i cant remember the name of it.
I cant believe i let spots rule my life but they do, i avoid going out as i find it hard to look people in the eye when i have awful spots. I want to get married soo much but i worry that the stress of a wedding would make me skin even worse and id have lumpy spotty skin on the big day. Not only making my wedding pictures ugly but it would ruin my day as i would feel self consious
Does anyone know of anything that really helps spots/acne?
Thank you

I used to be on Dianette, but most GPs point blank refuse to prescribe it now. They have given me panoxyl which is a cream, but it is rubbish and dries out my skin. I wish you luck! I felt nervous leading up to my wedding day but my skin wasn't too bad luckily.
I know exactly how you feel, I used clinique superbalanced cream foundation as it has a thick consistency and it really helped my confidence. My skin looks flawless in my wedding photos although I'm not sure if this was down to the make-up or the photographer's photoshop skills!
Wish you luck, please stop putting the wedding off because of your skin x0 -

im 31 and last year became dairy intolerant, i get huge spots that are very red hot and painful lumps. if i stop eating dairy they go away, but as i'm a chocoholic and love cheese i find it hard not to eat them and spots come back.
i'm not saying you are the same. just this is what causes my spots.
photographer trickery, brilliant idea. Hope you wedding goes to plan, don't let your spots stop you.THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -
Dianette is brilliant if you can get hold of it! Definatley a miracle cure! Hope you get sorted, its a real headache having acne. I feel for you.!0

Thanks breezerockz and mealeys
I was on dianette a long time ago now, must of been over 2 years ago. It was great for my skin and.....my boobs! They grew a cup size what seemed over night! I was quite disappointed when i went onto cilest and they shrunk back down to pre-dianette size!
I have wondered is it dairy that should be making things worse, i too love cheese, milk and chocolate. I will try to cut down though, maybe keep a diay of what i eat and when the break outs happen.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

I have suffered with acne since I was 13, I am now 26. It does completely ruin your life at times, I too get the really painful cysts. The only thing that works for me is Carleys clean and smooth, the industrial strength one. I have been using it for a few years now and my skin is a lot better, I do still get the odd spot but it clears up a lot quicker and the cysts are very rare.
Can I just add that I have absolutely nothing to do with the company that sell this stuff! I know I have mentioned them before, it is just really good stuff and it has made a big difference to my life and my confidence.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
Thanks dolly ive never seen that foundation before, it looks pretty good i have to invest! Im using bare escentuals atm as there light on the skin but dont cover very well, so i will give this a try.
Kjmtidea, thank you ive never heard it but i will google it, i will give anything a go.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Laser treatment (not cheap) really cleared up my sons Acne. He had tried everything else apart from Roacutane which was prescribed but he decided not to take because of the side effects.0

I've had colloidal silver from this company ( for DS) and I used it on some very red sore spots where it helped almost overnight.
The site has these products recommended for problem skin:
