Well, maybe not...:D

But his New Year speech was indistinguishable from the platitudes and nonsense of Clown et al

"We will send out the loudest signal that this country is back open for business and ready for investment."

"We recognise its special place in our society so we will not cut the NHS, we will improve it for everyone."

"Our goal is to create a fairer, safer, greener country where opportunity is more equal."

That isn't even good English grammar!

England is finished. If you can, get out now.

Although I'm pretty sure there are a few dispensable NHS management bods.

Surely first target should be any increase in benefit per child sprogged.

The NHS is morally repugnant - hey we'll take 10% of the fruits of your labour for the next 40 years and we will not give you that life saving cancer drug because we spent all your money on drug addicts and boob jobs, ha, ha, ha.

Politicians who say they will protect the NHS are waffling meaninglessly. Do they mean the NHS that took 2% of GDP in 1950, 4.5% in 1990 or 9% right now?

  • It's not just the NHS, the whole public sector needs a massive overhaul, pensions, wages, waste, all are completely disconnected from the private, productive side of the economy.

My bins haven't been emptied for 2 weeks, why ? cus of 2 inches of snow ?, cus they get full pay and can have a week off work if they have a sniffle ? what do they do in Norway, Sweden etc....... this place is pathetic sometimes.

There's no perfect system of socialized medicine, it will always be twisted and abused in some degree. It's like the description of democracy: the worst system of government, except for all the others.

Socialized medicine is the worst form of healthcare, except for the alternatives.

OTOH, it's more impressive to wade in, get your hands dirty and try to change things, than just to complain endlessly about how imperfect they are.

They are all lying f*cking thieves.

They do not care about you, your family or even the country.
All they care about is being voted onto the gravy train.

Everything they say is to that end and is all spin, corruption and bullsh1t.

Speaking on the economy, he said he intended to cut public spending through a one-year freeze on public sector pay and to bring forward the planned increase in the state pension age.

    Oh dear.....

No big cull of millions of public sector jobs then.
He also said he intended to support businesses through a cut in the main rate of corporation tax, the creation of 100,000 apprenticeships and a new high-speed rail network.

Tax cuts and job creation. That can't be good for a crash....

Ha ha! HAmish, do we need to dig up the thread that you were mistaken about the scale of cuts required to balance the budget?

    Want me to remind you?

25%. Before we start to pay off debt.

Want to tell me where the 12.5% savings are coming from in the next term without significant job losses and tax rises?

What Cameron is saying now and what the Tories will do in 6 months time are entirely separate matters. Its called electioneering you ginger Scottish tw*t!
