He would see that as a total failure on his part though scaredy, he is a very proud man and believes that you should be able to face whatever life throws at you and just deal with it (damage in childhood I fear).
He would also worry about having "signed off with stress" on his medical records for any future employment. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Lou - they wouldn't have to put 'stress' on his sick note. I know someone who is off work with stress but the doc puts 'virus infection' and such like on hers.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

To be honest Elli he needs to get out of there, it is the most mis-managed company who just squeeze all they can out of their employees and rule with a rod of fear of losing their jobs.
It has had a lot to answer for over the years let me tell you, lots of things have suffered:o
He has zero confidence at getting work anywhere else, I have even suggested that he resigns and goes to university in September doing whatever he fancies, he just says "whats the point at my age"? He is 45, I dont think he is ready for the scrap heap yet but he does.
Do you know what he is looking forward to? Retirement!!!But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

I have adult learners changing their careers or starting their first at 40+ its like talking to a brick wall scaredy:o
There was a time when it looked like he might have been made redundant but alas it didnt happen. I know that some people will see this as selfish as at least he has a job but I would rather halve our income than see him being destroyed like this.
OK I have made myself really upset now so I best get off to bed.
Thanks as always for your support, it really does mean so much:ABut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
