Our house alarm has started going off whilst we're at home with the alarm unset. We've noticed it mostly happens when switching on a light or when the central heating comes on.Any help on how to fix it myself would be greatly appreciated. The alarm is a veritas and was installed in 1999.

have you ever had the batteries changed ??
theres normally one in the control panel and the bell unit , suspect if the one in the control units failing then its running on mains and the "blip" from the heating coming on is activating itEx forum ambassador

Agree - sounds like a battery problem. I had something similar with an alarm about the same age. £50 for a new battery to be installed, that was 18+ months ago tho.
It solved the problem - haven't been worken up in the middle of the night withthe alarm blaring again.0 -
Thanks guys I'll change the batteries and see if it does the trick.
Kind Regards Pete0
