Hi
I really hope someone can help...!
We bought microsoft office Enterprise 2007 through my husband's work and installed this on our new PC which runs on Microsoft Windows Vista about a year ago. It was working fine until today. Now it refuses to open any Office applications - when i try to do so it says,
'Error 5004.Config.Xml not specified: A valid Config.Xml file must be authorised when deploying '(null)'.
I am not techie at all, and when I googled this error I discovered that a number of people had encountered the same problem but there was no single solution. I think that the main advice was to uninstall it (which seems to be very complicated in itself) and then try and re-install it.
Can anybody help me fix this please and explain how to do it it layman's terms? I run a mother and toddler group and I'm desperate to write our termly newsletter.
Thanks very much,
scrummymummy

After a google and a bit of a read I would suggest a re-install is probably the way to go, certainly isn't any easy solutions out there. If you are very desperate to get the termly newsletter done and don't have the time to do a reinstall or it doesn't fix it, give open office a try, it is free (open source) and has most of the features of Microsoft office. You can open and save in Microsoft office formats too
