Well to those of you that helped me last time, thanks and if you wondered where I dissapeared to, my ex came to the house whilst I was at work and took the PC!!!!
Left my ring in exchanged!!, I know I could have gone to the police, but got too much on my plate anyway!!!
Just got to concentrate on me and my daughter.
Anyway, quick reminder, ex upped and left, played damn dirty,
broke my heart, finacial ruined ect, trying to keep roof over our heads.
I rent a house private, ive been given housing benefit, can just about afford to pay the rent ect, told letting agents whats happened ect, they said its fine as long as I pay the rent, just paid this months, they said they have never thrown anyone out before, then Got a letter from them saying have spoke to landlord and has giving me 2 months notice to leave!!!
I was bloody gob smacked after what they told me, its a notice requiring possession, the contract was in joint names with my ex, i've got a acknoledge receipt to sign to say I have received it, should I sign it?
They also sent me a list of other lets, but if that landlord isnt happy to keep me on I think they just giving me list to keep me quiet, so I dont play up and they can get me out in time, thinking i'll have else where lined up, then it all falls apart.
Sorry this is long, now the question is, where ever I go im looking at £500 month rent, I take home about £150 week, still waiting for tax creds to come thro, I get £30 week HB, which will go all together when I get my tax creds cus apparently I earn too much, get £40 week maintenance from ex for 11 year old daughter.
Now all my life I have done everything by the book, always paid my way, always worked, never claimed, I will not give up work, cus im just the work type LOL
BUT do I do the good route and say ok i'll be out, hope I can find somewhere else, I prob can tho its going to be tight on money, tho doubt I will get my deposit back!!!
Or do I say sod you lot, im not paying any more rent, you got 2 months notice before you can go to court to evict me so i'll save my self 3 months rent and £1800, i'll lose £700 deposit but most of that will go anyway cus there find reasons!
And they say here council im being evicted, ive paid my way all my life now its up to you to put me in a B&B and sort it!!!
And then i'll have cheaper than £500 rent and pray I get a decent place.
Is it too much to ask, ive always been good, done everything by the book, and where has it got me, drinking bacardi in the afternoon, tho I think all of England are atm with the foot ball!!!
Hope your still reading, cus im really finding this hard, its one thing after another, just had enough, im strong, but how much can I put up with!!!

Did they give you a reason for throwing you out? I'd be absolutely enraged about that. Have you tried the CAB for some advice, as I'm sure they can';t so this - you're not behind in the rent and they have no reason to think you wouldn't be able to pay your rent. I was lucky and when my hubby left my landlady just transferred the lease to my name.
Yu could always try the council, if they're intent on getting you out. You may even wind up with a cheaper place than you are, and thus have some extra money.
Chin up love, it'll all come right. Have a slepp on it, and tomorrow morning find out your rights, as I'm certain this is against the law. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Make sure you chase up the tax credits people.
I advised them of a change of circumstances on the Friday, by Thursday of the next week, I had received a payment. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

It all looks norm to me, Me and my ex moved in last July, had 6 month contract, and since then a rolling contract which is the norm these days, and as it was in joint names, I spose we have broke the contract, and they just doing run of the mill 2 months notice.
But yeah im slightly annoyed to say the least, swear words aside LOL!!!!0 -
I still that they're being very heavy handed, especially as they gave you the impression that you would be able to stay on in sole name. Personally I don't think you have broken any contract, maybe the bit about you being on benefits has now got them nervous. I would certainly be asking why exactly they are asking you to leave. There should be no reason they shouldn;t allow you to carry on living there as long as you pay the rent. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Welcome back, Eli - I wondered where you'd got to.
A similar thing happened to me a while back. My landlord decided to sell the building where I lived and gave me notice. I went to the council for legal advice and was told that because I was "unintentionally homeless" I would qualify for a council house. Three weeks later I got one.
Get down there tomorrow morning and explain the situation. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Eli, if you re on a six month assured shorthold tenancy the landlord has to give you a section 21 notice (notice to quit) by law. it may just mean you have to contact them to sign a new 6 month tenancy, which you would anyway if you were putting it into your sole name£61.20 x 20p today (start date 07/03)
£184.00 x £2

Take the notice to the council tomorrow.
The council WILL fob you off that they cannot help. Go back every single week to chase things up - follow up every appointment they have with you. They have a duty to house those in need and provided you have been kicked out for no reason (ie not paying the rent) then they have a duty to help.
This will be eventually - I promise! My landlord 9 yrs ago, had not bothered to pay the mortgage! I too was claiming housing benefit and there was not a sinlge letting agent in Slough who would take me onboard due to this.
The council only re-housed me 2 days before my eviction date. This was into a hostel though. My council employ people to NOT give you a council place and get you to find alternative accomodation!
I was housed into the 2-bed place we are in now, 6 months after that.
If you hold out for a council place, the rent will be cheaper, it will be all yours and no chance of them kicking you out (unless rents not paid). The best bit is, when you are settled again and once the job/wages pan out, you will have more cassflow as the rents will be cheaper.0 -

Where do you live. If you wanted one in Dorset you would be old and grey before you got one lol.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
the other good thing about living in a council house is one day if you can afford it and you like it you have the option to buy it .... i know i sound heartless here but i'm honeslty trying to look on the bright side for you ...good luck0

Minnie, no worries i'll be on there doorstep first thing, I work accross the road from the council office and alot of them come into the shop I work so I shall start shrinking there suits if they dont play ball LOL
Kathy I was on a 6 month contract, but that ran out in Jan, its no a monthly rolling one, but nothing signed.
Jazzy, im up a bit in Zomerset
I am torn with private rent and council, private I can get what I want where I want, but its going to be very strappy on the cash.council I will get what im given, im not going to live in a flat again, did that for 2 years before we moved to this house, hated every minute, flippen made me nuts, the noise from other people, not being able to sleep, feeling trapped, HATED it, thought I was going nuts until I moved out then I was calm again!!
No garden for my daughter.
Do you think i will get offered a flat because its only us two?
Flats round here are horrid, mate lived in one full of druggies, they didnt come down to borrow sugar from her, they borrowed spoons
Should I carry on paying the rent, im getting kicked out anyway, so whats the point, make it as difficult for them as they are me, maybe if I play underhand and have got fighting spirit I will cope through this, otherwise well I cant give up.0
