Halifax Interest Charges Query

Hi all,
I'm really just looking for some confirmation, basically i think i must of used my halifax card before christmas to buy something and only just realised I was £40 overdrawn within my agreed limit. Basically, I am aware of the £1 a day but will this apply to the small balance? As it was 21 days i was overdrawn, will I be charged £21? I used to be charged pence..
Thanks for your replies in advance.

Why don't you keep the account open with £1 in credit. Then pay £1,000 through the account each month and get £5 off them. In 5 months you will have got your money back Plus £4 and in 12 months you will be £39 up.0 -
I could yeah - But my salary gets paid in Natwest as this is the only place they will pay a wages to and i would have to transfer it in and back out again and as most of my D/Ds are due on the 20th i dont think i would be able to do it and avoid charges with Natwest. Think i will just call it an expensive lesson learnt and close my account.0
