High Definition Camcorder Help/Reccomendation

Hi,
My daughter wants to buy a High Definition camcorder soon so she can do a few short films before she goes to university.

She wants to spend about £200 - £300, and is confused as to whether to buy SD card, or Hard disk drive format.

Does anyone know the Pro's and cons of these recording formats, and can anyone reccomend any camcorders.

Thanks!

Regards,
Jazz

I got a Pansonic SD10 for Christmas and have been happy with it. It records to SD card which I think is preferable. It's tiny and very light weight. The only annoying thing about it is that it doesn't come with a HDMI cable so you can't play your new HD videos on your TV until you get one.

It depends what sort of films she wants to make though. if it's only shortclips then something like a Flip or Kodak Zi8 migt be suitable and they're cheaper.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
