where to invest 30k

hi

just wondering if there are any recommendations for current savings deals.

Basically, the 30k is our mortgage safety-net... just in case things go wrong.

we don't really want to add to the 30k.... just invest it and leave it.... so bonds/fixed savings acct is probably the best option ?

would prefer a proper bricks & mortar establishment rather than internet banking. ...just in case i need to go and bang on their door !

no need for cashcards etc

access needs to be 30/60 days.

dont want to split up the 30k with isa's etc... just want to put away a lump sum in one place

cheers

Mike
