I've written a few reviews but I've had to reassess the money sitch, its still not going well and I don't really understand why
I moved £200 from savings and its all gone, I had £30 in cash from my mum and thats all gone, I know I paid 2 bills and my rent but I have to pay rent again in about 2 weeks, and I need to pay my water bill soon which I didnt think about! grrr
I am hoping ill get my dooyoo cheque soon though and I'm loving this challenge for helping me to push towards the next one! I think I might have to borrow some more money back from savings or from my mum or my bf its just so hard!! grrr

It's scary how quickly money gets eaten up without you even realising! Fingers crossed you get the dooyoo cheque soon to help out a tiny bit and as Tete said, at least you're not going into the red.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -

Don't you hate it when you're catching up on threads and see a billion things that you wanna comment about then when you click reply you can't remember what you've just read! Sorry if I miss anything!
Dinah - hope you got your results back. It's been long enough, must be doing your head in now! Looking forward to seeing your new paintings too. And the house progression is exciting!
Birdie - another vote for the scrapbooking idea, they're lovely. And I agree with not making the official wedding business too weddingy.
Wendz - well done on your presentation! I'd never have been able to do that! Very flattering to be asked back
Tink - two words... spending diary! They're so useful, but I know exactly what you mean about not knowing where your money goes. It's so frustrating!
Lulu - you're doing well on dooyoo! I need to go and rate everyone actually. I need to get back into it but I've been quite busy with uni and whatnot.

God Tink, i dont know how you do it! You're brill when it comes to knocking reviews out! When i get stuck i just put more time into rating. Its long but it all adds up eventually. Wanted to get a few reviews done today while im in the mood, but i've got the kids again today, overnight and im doing a big mothers day dinner tomorrow
You really are so much better than you realise at Dooyoo! I couldnt write reviews as often as you. Dont be so hard on yourself0 -

My MRI results were inconclusive and did not indicate anything that could cause this level of pain and difficulty. The doctor said 'your guess is as good as mine at this point' - so I'm seeing him 4pm on Monday, and taking with me the name of the consultant who diagnosed my dads knee when no one else could and saying 'my guess is this guy will know whats wrong, I want a referral please'. I'm considering taking him a cake to sweeten the deal. I spent last night in a real flunk as I was so looking forward to knowing what was wrong and how to fix it, but mum took us all out for a lovely Indian to make up for it.zigmeister wrote: »Dinah - hope you got your results back. New paintings
We got the morgage valuation back this morning - £193,000 - £37,000 more than we're paying for it. We were chuffed with that until NIM spoke to his dad who says he still doesn't think we an afford it and he hopes we haven't spent anything on it yet - well yes actually nearly £2000 appointing a solicitor and getting surveys done! I'm guessing the house buying process works completely differently in Ireland. But NIM is going to call him when he comes back from getting the MOT done and explain that the morgage will be around 1/4 of our take home pay, it needs no essential works, we save £1450 a month and pay £480 to mum and dad for food and bills so it would be comfortable for us to pay this, etc etc. If he still is umming and ahhing NIM is taking the gloves off and saying 'look this is a gift or it isn't, we could have bought this entirely ourselves except we spent it on the wedding because you said you'd give us the deposit as a gift and its starting to feel like you just need to control the situation no matter how much I justify that this is a sensible purchase'. I sense by the end of the day we won't have a deposit - but at least we'll know where we stand!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
sorry they couldn't find anything conclusive about your knee Dinah, but fingers crossed you get a referral to the person who said what was wrong with your dads knees, so many people just take what their doctors say as gospel, and suffer on, so you're definitely better being persistant!
Sorry about the whole situation with NIMs dad, it must be so frustrating, and putting a dampener on what should be a really exciting(allbeit stressful!) time for both of you. Fingers crossed you hear some positive news on that frontMortgage free wannabe #124

Blimey, thats strange about your knee. Must be driving you crazy, it would be so great to know either way, so you can find a way forward. Do you think you have whatever it was that your dad had? Hope your doctor agrees to the referral.
Yeah come on Zig, get back on Dooyoo! I rated a few of yours the other day. Just got in, went shopping with my sister, which is great fun when you have no moneyWill try and do a review today.
I'll put up the one i done yesterday in a bit. Hope everyones enjoying the weekend xx

Hope they work out the knee problem soon, what a nightmare!
That is so annoying about the house too. NIm is right, either it is a gift or it isn't. Can't believe he is saying this after you have paid for the vaulation etc as well.0
