Media Catalogue Software

Does anyone know where I can get a decent (preferably free) download of a media catalogue (DVD and CD). I downloaded Media Man before they started charging for it, and now it will not link with Amazon like it used to - tried fixing it but I suspect that they have done something to block it to force people into paying up! Only want to file a few hundred DVDs and CDs so do not want to pay for the privilege!

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

There are a few open source projects out there. Have you had a look at BiblioteQ?

Maybe more functional than you need, and not (apparently) compatible with anything later than WinXP, though...
  • Looks good, but looking to upgrade my laptop so possibly looking for Windows 7 compatibility. Have to admit, the more I look into it the more it looks tempting - maybe they are working on an update, shall bookmark it and keep and eye on it. Thank you.

Delicious Library is excellent, though it's Mac only. It even lets you use your Mac's webcam as a barcode scanner. Regardless, it's the same price as Media Man, so I'd just bite the bullet and pay the £25.

I've been using CATraxx Music Database for years now it can be made as simple or as comprehensive as you wish.It automatically scans your cd's and downloads info from CDDB into the database or you can enter items manually - LP's 45's cassettes etc.
You can download the full version and try it on a limited entry basis but to unlock the full version you have to buy a licence key.
    Heres the website.
