Out of interest asking landlords would you let to dss tenants. and how did it work out? Did they pay direct to you or themselves!
And to dss tenants how hard was it to get accommodation?
How did you get deposit and did you get it back or any wrongful claims for damages.

if you search on here under LHA or HB and on www.landlordzone.co.uk and www.singingpig.co.uk you will find huge amounts of information on this
LHA always goes directly to tenants now unless they are classified as "vulnerable"0 -
Just a side issue really but if you are fortunate enough to have a job and work hard to provide for your family, then move up the food chain so that at last, you can afford the little cottage (terrace),semi or even detached home of your dreams, should it/would it concern you to know that someone lives next door who may have hardly worked in their lives for various reasons and even worse, are the chavvy types who have a sofa in the back garden and unruly brats?
BTL landlords..do you have any social conscience in blighting neighbours with such people?
Disclaimer-DSS claimants are also available in short term unemployed, educated, decent varieties.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Anyone I know who rented out DSS did so to people they knew or had friends/family that knew them personally.
Sister rents a house to the council in 2 year blocks. Believe they use it for emergency accomodation and take over the upkeep of the property for the 2 years they have it (repairs etc). I also believe when it's returned, it's had a lick of paint too.0 -
I have been renting a property to someone for 5 years .
DSS always pay the rent to me every 4 weeks .
deposit was 4 weeks rent in advance"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

Rents are very poor for this type of rental0 -
Hey, I'd need LHA but because I'm on a low income! I'm at uni 3 days a week and wouldn't afford the rent on my own (am over 25, but if I neeed it, would prefer my own little flat)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

If a BTL landlord inflicted scummy neighbours on me then i would find out where he lived and make his life hell.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry).
