The High Street Gift Voucher - Love2Shop - Argos Refusal

Thought I would update this thread following doing some research last night.

I have loads of Love2Shop vouchers which I wanted to use in Argos, but noted one the website that the version I had couldn't be used as they didn't have the Argos logo on the front.

The vouchers I have include the Homebase logo, but not the older Woolsworth logo, so think this is the second version and expires in March 2012. £10 vouchers.

Well as the product I wanted was by far the cheapest at Argos (a place I wouldn't usually shop) I thought I'd chance it and drop in. I asked the girl behind the counter whether they accept them and she said she wasn't sure (I think she was new tbh) so went to speak to the shop manager (I though oh no, no chance now). The shop manager showed here a poster of the vouchers they accepted and came back and confirmed they were ok, which was great.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the poster as it was behind a staff wall (I tried lol) but just so you know, some Argos stores are accepting them it would seem; maybe things have changed since this post was originally published, but the highstreetstore site still says on the latest are accepted! This was Argos in Crewe.

I meaning specifically the vouchers that don't have Argos listed; not sure if you were too?

I work somewhere that does accept love to shop vouchers (not argos tho) and the 'problem' vouchers are the £10 vouchers that have BOTH woolworths AND argos printed on the front of them (I believe this is because there were a number of forged copies of these particular ones) we have a poster behind our counter too, although we are quite happy to show the customer if they ask to see it. By the way the £5 and £1 vouchers with woolworths and argos on we are still ok to accept!

My L2S vouchers were refused in Debenhams today as they didn't have the Debenhams logo on them. They are the blue £5 denominations with the squiggle instead of the heart with an expiry date of March 2012. Debenhams are listed on the L2S website as a place you can use them so I don't see the problem. Has anyone else had any trouble with Debenhams, or should I go back another day and hope for a different sales assistant?

Sorry, I should also have mentioned that Debehams tried to scan the vouchers but they came up as zero. So it seems they've stopped taking them, though the L2S website still lists them.
Do any of the other L2S partners sell Debenhams gift cards (WHSmith?). Maybe I could 'swap' them there?

Iceland have been giving me grief with Love 2 Shop vouchers!!

I get them regularly (£6) from a RM Mis Delivery Survey, so they should be legit.

Last time I used them @ Boots and luckily were ok.

Don't know what the prob is @ Iceland??

Clinton cards sell gift cards for debenhams, and the have one that does Miss Selfridge, Topshop and a few other stores together (Dorothy Perkins maybe?). My local Clintons also sells Ticketmaster gift card so worth a look if you want too spend your L2S vouchers somewhere else.
