The High Street Gift Voucher - Love2Shop - Argos Refusal

I had the same problem in Argos last week when I tried to use my Love 2 Shop vouchers to buy a steam generator iron. I was told they couldn't accept these vouchers as they didn't have the word "Argos" on them. I advised them I thought they were part of the scheme, though. The girl said they were but could not accept them in any case.
Every cloud has a silver lining, though, as I then went into Debenhams and bought a Coast dress, reduced from £160.00 to £79.00, put my £40.00 vouchers towards it and only had to pay £39.00....0 -
Update ........ after a bit more research ARGOS appear to be rejecting any voucher (£10 or £5) that hasn't got a white border.
They are (however) being accepted by other High Street shops ......... confusion rains.0 -
Argos Customer Services advise that they have issued a bulletin to all outlets (confirmed this an Argos worker as well (who was part of a staff rollocking for accepting them))0

I had this same thing happen to me at Boots. I tried to use an old voucher and I was told no by the manager as they "didn't match the new picture" of the vouchers they had posted for the staff by the tills.
I was annoyed at this and being stubborn and irritating I then and there called up the voucher company to ask why I was not able to use my vouchers which were within date!
There was a very nice lady on the phone who said the vouchers were valid and I could use them, I said the manager would not let me and asked if she wanted to speak to the manager. I then handed over my phone to the manager of the Boots store who at the end of the call begrudginly let me use the vouchers- a grimance more then a smile but I did get to use the vouchers! They were given to me in good faith and completely legal so I had no problems making a fuss. I'd suggest others in a similar position either call up the number on the vouchers or the head office for the store they attempted to use the vouchers in,- better yet, get the store themselves to call up the voucher people on your behalf (this is what should have happened- I should not have had to make the call/use up my credit!)
I have just used these vouchers in my local Boots without any problem so looks as if you were unlucky at your branch.0 -
Hi am not sure if this help but we used the vouchers in mothercare last week and they sell some toys (elc) so you could try there.0

Hi, wondering if someone could help me?
I received 'Love2shop' vouchers (High Street Gift Voucher) in a raffle. I went into Argos to redeem them, but was told I couldn't use them because they have the Woolworths logo on the voucher. SA said they'd been told not to accept these vouchers.
Both vouchers are well in date, one expires Mar 2011 and the other Mar 2012. SA said I would just have to spend them in somewhere else, but I really wanted to put them towards a purchase from Argos, as I knew they 'usually' accept them. Seems daft to me, just because they contain a logo of a shop that no longer exists on the high street.

I get grief from "Iceland" with these LTS vouchers rec'd from Royal Mail misdelivery surveys saying about the style, even though in date. (£5 & £1)
It's embarrassing when you go in and they make a fuss!!!0 -

I didn't think I was unlucky when the person on the phone spoke to the manager- after his adament refusal and the staff member joining in with him it was worth the effort of the phone call- the image of his gritting teeth was a classic picture!!:rotfl:0
