I have an Aqua Master Card and have today been advised by Aqua via e-mail of a finance company called Willows Finance who are marketing as being able to provide loans to do card/debt consolidation, etc.

Has anyone heard of them or are they part of the Aqua (Halifax) empire and so asumed to be reputable.

  • Sub prime lending - be very aware of the interest rates they will charge and walk away immediately if they ask for an upfront fee.
  • Willows Finance do not charge upfront fees and work with Aqua to offer their customers the opportunity of applying for a homeowner loan to help them consolidate all their different credit cards and store cards into one loan with a lower monthly repayment than all the credit bills added up to previously.

For many customers they are very grateful of being able to do this at a rate that is competitive for this area of finance. Especially when companies like Willows have such a wide panel of lenders available to them.

Rates obviously differ dependent on the customers personal financial circumstances but their maximum rate for customers with credit problems is much less than some and there lowest and typical rate is highly competitive for this area.

Willows Finance are not part of Aqua and are an independent Finance company meaning they will search the market to find the best rate they can for each customer. If anyone has ever spoken with them also it is a refreshing change to speak to a people who are professionals and not a call centre.

For customers with more severe credit problems it is worth speaking to Willows Finance to see if a secured loan through them could help before applying for a Debt Consolidation Plan or an IVA. Therefore speaking to them the sooner the better if you look like you are going to struggle with your existing repayments. They can give you options quickly and if is not right for you there is no obligation as you would expect but sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

View their website for more information.
  • Do you work at all for this company Mr Merlin?
  • No but I have a lot of commercial experience in this sector and have relationships with many finance companies in sub prime and other areas.

I don't mind giving credit where credit's due to the good ones and also slating the bad guys - and this one happens to be a good one.

If they're hanging around sub-prime I would say be careful of these potential shysters.

  • Not all eggs should be put into the same basket, so remarks like that show your immaturity and 'potential' lack of industry knowledge.

Getting a subprime loan can be a good idea if the loan is meant to pay off a higher interest debt (such as credit card debt) and the borrower has no other means for payment.

  • Unfortunately the fact is some of what you call bottom feed (otherwise known as 'real people') do not have the luxury of lots of other financial options available to them and so can benefit from these products and are grateful of products that can help them either just reduce outgoings or avoid bankruptcy ect.

No one is blind to the positives and negatives of finance such as this but if your are someone who could benefit from a product such as this then it can't be bad as long as it is used in the right way but that is down to the consumer.

Fortunately I have never needed a product such as this but am empathetic to people who do.

Obviously you are not and can't see past the end of your overpaid steak filled belly so oblivious to what is really going on.

If you have other suggestions of what people in this position should do please feel free to share your words of wisdom as I am sure there are 1000's of bottom feeders dying to hear what you have to say.:T
  • So if you are not employed by them do I take from your posting that you could benefit in some way by someone on here PM' ing you and you then passing on the details and would you then get some commission?
