    Hi Igamogam

The shock was that we have loads more coming into the household than I thought - it truly is disgusting the amount we have wasted over the years.

One day I might post a SOA.

I heard so many great things about YNAB which is why I started the trial - at first I didn't think I would like it as I am very much from the school of budget the money before it comes in so you know where you are so this is the complete opposite.

I have watched the 1st webinar and that helped clarify things for me. Just need to make time to watch the others.

Such a shame you didn't get on with it.

    Hi Robin:hello:
    Thanks for posting.

Hope you are ok and have enough solar power to charge your laptop on this grey and damp day!!

Feel free to subscribe - it's mainly boring interspersed with a few dramas along the way:rotfl:

DH's back is so much better - he even managed 1.5hrs on the allotment yesterday. Mainly cutting bramble so he did not have to bend but considering he has not done anything manual for at least 6 weeks we are pleased.
Only problem now is sciatica (we think) - he has a pain all down his right leg which is painful all the time. We are hoping the osteopath will have some plans when we see him on Wednesday.

  • Hi Mrs H:hello:

Mr EE is feeling so much better and has decided that this week he thinks he might be well enough to sort the animals out - I was :j
He has been up to the field with me yesterday and today and will do tomorrow on his own while I walk the dog.

I am so relieved because since the last week of July I have been doing all the animals and then coming home, walking the dog and then chasing my !!! to get to work on time.

Yes the piggies went to slaughter at the start of Sept - we collected them from the butchers last weekend so we have a freezer full of lovely pork. I tried pork for the first time in 23 years and it was amazing!!

Yes, I was so pleased she has stepped down - only problem is that no one wanted to step up so we have 2 chairs to share the role. Next year I might stand especially if I give up my Treasurer role for the big event I am involved with.

Hope you and the Hinge family are doing ok?
  • Another month passes and I don't update.

I just don't seem to have much time to post - hopefully things will ease a bit if DH does one of the morning jobs. He has also been locking the animals up each night while I walk the dog.

One thing I will say is that keeping active definitely helps you lose weight - in the last 2 months the weight has fallen off me - not sure how much I weigh but all my clothes are really lose. No doubt I will pile it all back on again when DH takes on some of the work load!!

I have used YNAB but not updated it as often as I should have done - the problem is that I buy a lot of stuff for the committees I am on and then I don't claim it back until the following month or not at all and I spent out quite a bit and did not know how to account for it so for over a week I didn't update but then I thought that I just have to get on with it.

I'm glad I did the trial and I have now purchased the full version - it really helped to show where my money goes. What tends to happen is everything is brought from my account and I then should transfer it back in to my account from the various pots or from DH's account but I never do and then I wonder why I have no money - well this month was different - I kept all my receipts and when I put them in YNAB I made sure I transferred the money from the pots and I have ended the month with some money left - this has gone to my Debt pot as my Spanish bank c/c 0% runs out 31/10/15.

I have £940 on the c/c and have £246 in the debt pot, I have just been paid so as long as I keep YNAB up to date I should be able to put another £300 in over the next month and then whatever's left will have to come from Octobers wage. I refuse to pay interest so I will so this (failing that Halifax have offered me a 0% deal)

Trying to do surveys in the evening but not always finding the time - I must sort my evenings out a bit better.

    Hope everyone else is well

    Hi Brizzle

All is good in the hood!!!

Mr EE is feeling nearly 100% again - he has been doing the chickens in the mornings and is going to try walking the dog but we need to get her a better lead as she broke her good one and we are using a retractable one which DH finds hard to operate (one of the issues with his neuro problems are brain/eye/hand co-ordination)

He has been to the osteo fortnightly but we are going 4 weeks between appointments this time but if he is not good after 2 we can ring for an appt.
