EOBD dashboard light staying on
Hello all, I am looking for a little help please.
I have a 2001 Y Reg Mondeo 1.8 litre injection petrol estate.
Just yesterday the EOBD light came on and stayed on.
I cannot find the handbook for the car but in the handbook for the other car we have it states it may be an ignition/fuel/injection problem and that should the light stay on to get it to a garage as soon as possible.
I have searched and read threads detailing a similar fault but wondered what would be your first piece of advice to try.
For example, it requires a service soon anyhow so I was wondering if having the plugs and leads changed might help overcome the problem.
Thank you very much in advance for any help.

The EOBD light indicates that the on board computer thinks that there is something wrong with the car. The ONLY first step is to plug the car into a diagnostic tool and read out the fault code. Once you have the fault code try and find an owners club and post it there.0

Thanks Phil_L.
Therefore I will look to buy one of the diagnostic tools that I have seen mentioned can be bought on eBay .
Then I can post as you advise on a Mondeo owners forum.
Thanks again.0 -
