Campervan owners unite!!!......[ snip] DH's is a camper, which is more what we need and it fits the 6 of us.
We were going to be having one more, which is why we were first looking at the microbus but it didn't work out.

Of course whether I can actually part with it is another thing altogether!!!
You can fit 6 of you in it! That's impressive. I thought we were doing well with five (and admittedly 2 of those 5 will be very small at first).
  • I do go into the local Poundland sometimes. It's recently expanded and now occupies the former Woolworth store area in my hometown.
These seems to be a regular supply of granulated sugar there from "Whitworth's" I think the name is. I imagine that they sell it at other Poundlands too.
In the supermarkets it seems to be just under a quid for a kilo of sugar at the moment. The bags in Poundland are exactly a quid (obviously) but they contain 1.5 kilos - a much better deal on the face of it. The sugar bags don't look much bigger than 1kilo bags. The sugar appears to be a bit finer so this may explain that. So possibly a good deal if you go a bit easy on it allowing for the finer texture?
Just thought I would post this in case it helps anyone save a little on their sugar bill. Or maybe someone knows of a better deal?

witworths sugar is beet sugar not cane sugar. It is ok but not as sweet and it does not store long term as it develops an off smell.

I wondered what the catch was. Well I've got a couple of bags now so will have to live with it for a while :D . I may end up sticking with it but make sure that I don't stockpile due to the shorter shelf life.

What does everyone count for this? Im counting every penny i spend thats for personal living. Digs, deisel, nights out etc. Tomorrow il need diesel, new jeans for work on Friday and a new trowel for work. Total cost i think £40+£10+£25=£75 :( Not bad considering itl be the first week in the year costing £95, budget allows more than that.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

i count everything too, if i come under budget in a week/month then that amount goes to pay off debt, once debt cleared it will go to over pay mortgage or savings

    Hello All!

Wow so many posts! We were sent home from work early today (about a foot of snow here in Warrington), so I have spent the afternoon catching up! I’m seriously addicted! My OH is getting a bit annoyed I think; the ironic thing is he got a PS3 just before Xmas and I was concerned it would be me getting neglected :rotfl:

Been a busy bee, on Saturday I sifted through 2 of the kitchen drawers and found lots of bits and bobs that will come in handy, including a fixing pack for a kitchen blind I bought over 4yrs ago! The blind has been under the stairs awaiting erection for that long!

On Sunday I tackled the under stairs cupboard; I cleared out so much junk and now am aware of what is under there. Another bonus was finding a wall mountable lamp which the OH has now attached so we can see what is there! Didn’t have time to do a full inventory of all tools, paint etc, but it is a formal order so I can go back when I have spare time

Even made enough room so that we can now relocate the cat litter in there (kitties are getting old and lazy, so won’t go outside anymore grrr) priced up a cat flap to go on the door (6.99) from Argos, so will be picking that up when the weather improves. Cat Litter tray is currently in the dining room which puts you off eating there as you can imagine (apologies for that mental image)

Did an inventory of the food cupboards last night, got lots of dried and tinned stuff, just need to start stocking up on meat and fish in the freezer; now I am more clued up about bulk buying when a good offer is on, I think It will get easier.

I am learning so much from all the posts and tips, thank you so much! I am so excited about becoming more ‘crafty’ and OS and despite only having a ‘yard’ I cant wait to get planting in tubs, containers etc.

The new carpet is being fitted tomorrow, although not sure with this weather! But just incase, me and OH are going for a stroll in the snow to get some cash for the carpet fitter – Im going to try to get OH to pay for it, as he has only contributed 10% to carpet cost so far (he has his own house he rents out)

    Keep warm and safe xxx
