Hey everyone hows it going? Payday for me :j:j:j And im finally getting some overtime, working tomorrow
Even if its just a half day, every little helps! Today is a spend day, £20.05 on desiel(thought it would have been more so :T) but i went to Tesco then realised Morissons is cheaper by 1p a litre and closer to work. Always thought Tesco was cheaper but hey live and learn, il know for next time. Also in the papers it said construction workers are top for winning more than £50k on the lottery so with Euro millions at a massive £85million, 5 of us paid £2 each and got 5 lucky dips, winnings to be split by the 5 of us, the boy who bought them scanned and printed out the ticket so we will know the numbers! £17million each if we got full scoop or £200k if we win the £1million UK raffle. IF ONLY....:D
But anyway away over to gfs at half 6, work tomorrow then she will be at mine tomorrow night and Sunday for a relaxing day;) The next 6 days should be NSDEnjoy your weekend everyone, make the most of it :j

Always worth it -- you could have a nice little 'extra' for treats/presents come Christmas, even if it does mean you have to actually go into the the store for onceCheryl0

hello NYKmedia, bails and all the lovely frugals and fruguys:)
I was wondering if I might be able to recruit a few of you as frugal recipe testers for my latest mad project, but I thought I could say it on this thread because the recipes will all fit into a low budget, I'll compile the recipes etc elsewhere I just wanted to get a feel for if people would try out some recipes and rate them for cost, ease, taste etc.
Much love,
Weezl x
I'd like a look at any vegetarian ones you put up and see what I make of them...:). I remember a certain veggie couscous recipe I made up before from your previous thread - I did write down and keep the recipe and have done it since...:)
So - do please send me the link. Will they be on your blog (hopefully)?
*******************************************************
NYKMEDIA - not quite sure whether it would actually be possible for a link to this to be given on an MSE thread? (be it this one or any other MSE thread actually). So - think this needs a bit of clarifying - with MSE's "take" on copyright issues......
But - I'm sure a lot of us will be quite happy to be "off Board" testers for our Weezl if she wants - as we do learn a lot in the process ourselves - so 'tis fair exchange....0 -
Ceridwen - see post 3108 where I have already requested the link from Weezl.
With regards to MSE's 'take on copyright', they assert copyright on everything that gets written on their forums, hence the reason we shouldn't infringe on anyone else's copyright or include anything that we reserve those rights on ourselves.
From the actual rules here, "when you post text, you expressly grant us a perpetual, unlimited free license to republish that text on our site and to redistribute/make available and/or sell that text in print or electronic form anywhere in the world as part of an edited compilation or otherwise" -
It basically means that anything anyone writes on here can be used as part of a book, magazine/newspaper article, TV series etc made by MSE and the author will neither be credited nor paid any royalties.
I have a link to the forum rules in post 1.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi all
Been beautiful here today, really felt springlike, had all windows open for fresh air. Been a spend day today - paid El/gas bill so thats out of the way for next 3 months..
Had to go shopping for groceries etc. Spent £11.01. Saved £11.95 - first time that's ever happened
Bought 2 'Redwall' books for 99p in Oxfam shop - really pleased with meself, till I realised could have checked the library first
Noticed in our local Mr T today - they had an aisle for 'Bargains' - manager's specials - never seen this before, so went for a mosey - got large box mixed crackers £1.30, left all the casserole mixes there (not like me) :rotfl:, also found Kitkatt dark choc x 2 finger x 9 bars 60pso got 3 pks. Checked out the biscuit aisle later, and found same packs full price on shelf. So checkout if your store has any of the specials - I only found them coz I went down the wrong way ! All still in date - BBE ok for next 6mths, Good hunting.
Also the tetrapack recycling bin has 'The Carton Company' on the outside, so if they have website, might tell you where local recycling bin is? Think it was Shaz who was asking.
Have a good weekend everyone
Hugs to allWhen you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on

hiya,
Have been reading the thread but not posting, I'm still on track but had some extra expense and some bed news, so not feeling very MSE but am determined not to give into it.
The reason for the post is if you've bought early, second early or late seed potatoes, you can plant them all at the same time and the earlies will be ready first then the second earlies, can't remember were I read it but thought how do the plants know when to be ready, but apparantley they do.0 -
Firstly so pleased for you CTB:j and well done rictus for not getting the HP on the van
. But really? Gambling, lottery = poor man's tax - is it worth it? Look @ all the old ladies and Mom's on welfare in your local post office/grocery shop buying lotto tickets if you don't believe me! But then I was no better at your age (only worse!) so I guess that's me told. And yes...I got into debt first, learnt (and am still learning) second. Dumbo :P
So the menu plan has GONE OUT THE WINDOW. If I have food in good, if not I'll live on porridge. Doc was NOT happy about my recent 1/2 stone weight loss. I just forget to eat.. Hmmm...that was a result of the no carb, virtually no protein veggie thing I did the other week (the result 7lbs or something lost but one seriously grumpy me).
I want a NSD soon (I can't recall Wednesday so don't know if it was a NSD or not. I think it was but I really can't recall!!!). I had to pay £1 for the drop in (don't normally go...not worth it but had a meeting). Yesterday I got a food mixer for £3 a la chas shop and splurged on coffee with a friend (then said no more spending for an hourto her and me and we went round the shops). But I so needed the extra calories in cake.
Tomorrow I have to get bananas (£1 from Morrisons) because they are SOS food (even when I don't feel like eating) and that's about it. I think pals are coming over for coffee so should save £. Sabbath is always a NSD. Don't shop on Sabbath (sunday). But the figures aren't looking good for this week. My actual grocery shop is fine but it's just my essential extras and my whoopsies. Praying I can recoup some £ ala ebay and amazon...
Stressed out. The whoopsies were on my sewing machine fixation. All sorted now £35 down though. Whoops. £35 non refundable too! 4 sewing machines later. Now have a new home/janome 692 which is gorgeous bar no free arm. does a really nice straight and zig zag though so need to get practising and get selling. And need to sell things like instruction books from the other 3 on ebay.
Anyhow I'll do my weekly spend and my projected spend for next week on Monday.....
Hope everyone has a very frugal day...like I said SOOOO pleased about your news CTB...
