    Hi all!
Thanks again for your inspiring posts - loving the idea of making deodorant!

February is getting off to a better start than January. Have already spent £78 on diesel though, but managed to talk OH out of taking me out for dinner on Valentine's Day/Chinese New Year, so you win some, you lose some!

Also blown £6 on yoga for last night's session and will do the same tonight at the gym.

Everything else is running fairly frugally though thanks to this thread!

    Good luck everyone!

I got 5L for €4.50 in my Asian supermarket. I remember others posting they picked up for even less that that - about £2.50 if I remember rightly.

Didn't go shopping after all, will do it tomorrow and pick up my fruit shrubs and hanging toms/strawberries in Aldi. They have cheap printer ink refill kits so will get those too. I've never used them before but I spend a fortune printing for college so these would save me lots if they're any good.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hey everyone how are we? Anyone know anywhere good in Scotland to get a van on finance? Seems this is the best option for me.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
  • Herm - I've often thought about loosing our TV license as we mainly watch dvds and OH plays on his computer in the evenings. I rarely watch something online unless it catches my fancy. Just wondering how you'd go about prooving you don't use your TV for live tv????

Erme; I think we all have a point where it goes a step to far. My OH for example likes to drink pop, we have tried the value/own brand versions and we prefer the "designer" pop of pepsi and coke-cola. We stock up on good deals though to keep them within budget but they are something we just can't comprimise on lol. Some people hate cheap loo roll, we hate cheap pop lol

  • Hey all,
Well today has been a busy day and I'm planning a bubble bath and an early night. Spent all day sorting out things from OH's shop and putting a few bits online for him. We've been planning to increase our online sales from a dabbling level to a more serious one. It been adopted as my project for the time being as I can do it and watch the shop while OH continues on with clearing the backroom and mini-kitchen. He found a big box of those old style card payment slips, which are only printed one side so I'm having some crafty thoughts about how I can use them. Watch this space lol.
Good luck to all those on diets or starting diets. I'd lost almost 4 stone when I fell pregnant, I weighed myself the other day and I have put on 1 1/2 with baby which I think is pretty average (?) meens that the weight is all her and extra blood and not me eating for 2 or 3 or 4 lol. I'm planning to breastfeed to and I hear that can really take the weight off you as it continues so we shall see. Not suggesting you all run off and have babys though lol!!!
I need to add £6.67 to my months spends as our media bill was higher than my budget of £30. I did make a lot of phone calls while snowed in so that probally explains it. Also splurged £2 on 2 hot chocolates earlier for me and OH, I was really chilly and fancied a chocolately treat. I can't wait till our mini kitchen at the shop is up and running. I can have frugal hot drinks on tap and indulge in my fetish for smart price pot noodle type snacks. Nom Nom Nom.
Anyhoo, I'm off to update my spends and then disapeer into some bubbles.
    Hugs to all

rozee i know about the price difference. Mad. The trouble is we live too far from Costco to justify a quick trip for a few basics, although i could get DH to pop in from work more often.
Hi, just noticed you're in Rotherham. I'm in Sheffield, so not far from you. I'm sure I read on here you can freeze milk? I know you can with skimmed as I used to, but not sure about the stuff with cream in it - though I'm sure I read you could freeze cream too *confused*
  • We freeze full fat milk regularly as we have found that we are sometimes a little short and the order from the milkman doesn't quite cover us.It does turn a yellow colour when frozen but once defrosted turns back to norm colour (just so anyone trying this isn't alarmed and bins it).
