Thats what I have been doing, I made a hat last week on circular needles and now a snood/ cowl both patterns from the internet. I bought the wool at bury market a couple of weeks ago.
I am very new to circular needles but I am getting quicker so it must be getting easier.

  • Hey all,
Look at this thread growing and growing!
Yesterday in the end was a NSD and my brother treated us all to a pizza which fed us for todays lunch as well! The Mac cheese will be tonights dinner. I am determined to make it before the leftovers go off as I hate waste with a passion.
My only spend for today is milk, I'm hoping to get some reduced in Waitrose on the way home, if not I'll get 4pints for £1 in Iceland.
Todays main activity is helping OH in his shop as Saturdays are his busy day and if I get chance to pop to the libary and look at some books on knitting.
    Have a good one

    Inventory of cleaning gubbins:

*please note* This does not include things already in use/hiding behind the toilet.

    11 non-stick scourers
    2 normal scourers
    2 spongey things
    Fabric softener
    Windolene
    Floor cleaner
    Furniture polish x 3
    Washing up liquid
    Oven cleaner
    Toilet Duck x 3
    Domestos thick bleach
    Cif cream x 2
Flash all purpose cleaner x 3
    Mr Muscle bathroom x 2
    Mr Muscle kitchen x 2
    All purpose cleaner x 2
    Lint roller x 2
    Lots of small bin liners

The only things I am likely to need in the near future are black bin bags and washing up liquid.

Now, a couple of questions for the frunchkins....

What can I use as an alternative to oven cleaner? It gives me a beast of a headache. Also, I tend to favour Fairy washing up liquid and wondered what your experiences were about the best frugal alternatives.

    Thanks!

    I have a pc and I can't find it...can I have the idiot's guide please? :o:D

hmm well i cant claim to be an expert, a friend showed me it, she just went to the 'search' function (which on my computer -vista- comes up when you bring up the menu of programmes- by clicking the little windows icon in the bottom left hand corner) then searched for 'snipping tool' and there it was!

hmm not sure if that made sense...

    Big Mumma,

Just make your pudding up as normal, then put it into your slow cooker, fill it 3/4 way up with water and put the lid on. I steamed mine for 8 hours, and it turned out really well.

I browned the meat before I put it into the pudding bowl and I made some extra gravy in a pot. Any more questions, give me a shout.

Got overcharged in ASDA this morning - 2 shampoos should've been £5 & they went thru at £8.60! Eeek!

Now means I gotta go out again in this freezing weather & join the loooooooooong queue to get it sorted, grrrrrrr! Or maybe go at 10.00 tomorrow?

But massive thanks to Cheryl & her spreadsheet or I'd not've noticed it!

You used to get your money back and a £2 giftcard from Asda for being overcharged. If they don't offer it ask about it, you might be lucky!
