Lovely to read everyone's progress, I made some chickpea and potato curry today and it worked out at £0.25 per portion which I'm really happy about. Thinking about making some gloup tonight!

    Stay warm and safe x

    Happy Birthday ttdb!

Had great fun making things from art clay silver today. I actually got a kit a couple of Christmas's ago, and never got round to making anything. Found it while I was tidying and decided to do something with it - managed to get 4 pendants and a pair of earrings from it (10g kit), and so that's some of the prezzies sorted for people helping with wedding bits, plus something for me. I enjoyed it enough thatI thought I'd buy some more clay and got quite a shock at the price... would have been much more careful with every crumb of it if I'd known! Still, I guess it's not bad value really given the amount of jewellery I got from it. Will post a pic at some point if I can find my camera (h2B helped with tidying...)

Made a delicious curry followed by gingerbread tonight, using the Levi Roots cookbook we got for Christmas. It's not massively frugal food, uses quite a lot of ingredients (spices and herbs especially) so you have to buy them all to start with, but it is totally yummy and worth it for a nice treat.

Nuala - Yes you can freeze bananas, they turn out really mushy once defrosted though so would need using in banana loaf, smoothies etc
TTDB - Happy birthday!! Glad you enjoyed your day

Thankyou to all who posted good wishes etc for me. All is well again now - managed to defrost my pipes (opened all the cupboard doors and turned the heaters onto them). I can honestly say the shower I had this afternoon was the best shower ever :D My landlady got electric put on my key for me, as they can get out in the truck, and I managed to get my car back. Well, between 3 of us and a lot of pushing/shoving/swearing we got it back anyway! So I am happy again now, just got to get to work in the morning.

Todays frugal activites were making a fish pie and not spending any money

Trying to be more organised with my spending made me re think my desk space today. Looks much better now certainly more inviting rather than deciding if the only space on the desk is for the mouse or a cup of coffee.
Anyway on a happier note I found a purse with £110 in thing is I was spending money so fast end of last year didnt realise this was only lost. bad or what.
I am putting it in my holiday pot saving for a "big" holiday when my OH retires October 2011.
