Can I ask Crabbie.............do you get your CH boiler serviced every year? We had a similar situation to yours............the fan had to be replaced. Up to that point, we hadn't had the CH boiler serviced since we moved in to the house and it was several years old.:o

Since the broken fan was replaced, we've had the CH boiler serviced every year and we've enjoyed hot water and central heating without any problems.;)

We had an engineer out to look at it this afternoon and the fan was indeed seized. A new part will be ordered on Monday but thankfully the existing one is working again following WD-40 treatment and a few taps to get it working.

How much are you paying for the new fan to be fitted?

I had to free up the fan on my mothers glowworm 50FF today, she had the same problems as you.

Its working for now but I will need to get a new fan as soon as pos.

Not every year, the last service was a couple of years ago as the boiler is still fairly new and I didn't think anything would wear out so soon. We learn by our mistakes! :o

Between £100-£120 but that also includes the call out today. When the engineer calls back I'll get a firm quote, but I imagine for you it'll be less as you don't need an extra call out to get the existing pump working since you did that yourself (well done by the way). Tim has the right idea with £80 (a few posts above).
