Shops not increasing VAT straightaway

    Did they ever decrease the Vat in the first place?:confused: Topshop didn't- (arcadia) and hence its "not going up" anytime soon either- advertising!!

    Shops have been getting ready for this for months. Remember 14 months ago when that telly was £399 when VAT was 17.5%. Notice how they are still £x99 now. Shops may be claiming they are not passing on the VAT increase but in relating they were milking the 15% VAT rate prior to the increase and when they decide not to pass on the increase they expect us to think "awwww, aint they kind!"

    They're doing it already! Most sites I've visited are saying on the home page "not increasing the VAT" and as you can see from the pages here, many are thingking just that- that they are not increasing it 2.5% rather then realising that infact they never decreased it in the first place!
