Just thought it would be a good idea if we could all share our knowledge on which shop are not increasing their VAT straightaway. The only one I know if so far is John Lewis are not allegedly increasing their VAT until February.
All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]

Lidl are not increasing at all.
Tesco varies. Most non food (TVs etc) are not getting an increase immediately as is light bulbs, DIY, car, white goods, pet items and personal care.
Grocery, beauty, chilled and frozen ARE getting an immediate increase with the exception of some promo items. Signage will be displayed in stores to inform customers whilst staff change the thousands of price labels that need changing.0 -
I know it's not much longer but I saw an advert for Currys saying they are holding the VAT increase until 4th Jan.0

Surely there are no shops which are not increasing their VAT - though some may not be increasing their retail selling prices? After all, this VAT rise has been known about for months and built into prices any way.jazzyjustlaw wrote: »Just thought it would be a good idea if we could all share our knowledge on which shop are not increasing their VAT straightaway. Yes, the shops cannot keep their VAT element at 15%, but they will be cutting their net price to ensure that after charging 17.5% the gross price is still the same.0 -
