Had a JL fridge freezer delivered today, followed instrictions exact and left for 4 hours before turning on. When turned on selected -18c for freezer and +5c for fridge as per manual.
3 hours later fridge at -18c
5 hours now passed since turn on and fridge has gone from +17c to +12c is this normal to take so long for fridge to get cold? Going down but 1 degree an hour?
Thanks for any advice help as no idea if right or not!

well 15 hours later fridge has reached 5 degrees as set. Must just be very slow in reaching desired temp! Anyone else had this in past with new one?0

We had a JL fridge freezer and I can't remember it took that long for the fridge to reach the 4 degrees we have ours set at. I would contact them or their support line to ask the question in case it is an indicator of potential future problems. I'd assume it would take longer for the fridge to reach temperature based on some v hazy reasoning that the freezing side of things is more powerful and the job gets done more quickly.:A0

Hi
When you first turn a fridge freezer on that is empty it will take quite a long time to reach temperature also as it is new people also tend to keep checking it and if that means opening the door to see the temperature gauge, it just extends the time.
Obviously keep a check on it, but I think it is probably fine and don't open the door just to check!

Cheers both of you for good advice.
You are right we were checking it about every hour, but still took about 8 hours to reach 5 degrees, but has been at 5 in the fridge since 6am now so all looking OK, presume that is it and worry over.
Seems to work that is did the freezer first then started very slowly doing the fridge, presume that how fridge freezers work?0
