My holiday booking is cheaper now

 Hi all

Hope you are having a good night!

I have booked a skiing holiday with Crystal just over 2 weeks ago for mid January and I have just logged on and the same holiday is £120 cheaper per person. I am so annoyed with myself and I wish I have hung around. I have e-mailed crystal about it and asked if they can re-book for a reduced price. I have tried to ring them but it is already closed for New Year eve.
Can i ask for a refund? or is it just my bad luck?

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

Manny

Unless Crystal are exceptionally kind I fear you are on a loser here. TBH you are wasting your time asking about it unless they offered a price guarantee.

probably bad luck - prices go up and down (I doubt you ould be contacting them to pay more if it had gone up)

it is likely at this stage that you will lose more by cancelling and rebooking which maybe would have worked if it was further away

the message that appears here often is "book at a price you are happy with and don't check again" it really is a gamble trying to pick the best time to book

hope you have a good holiday and happy new year
  • Its a common occurence, prices go up as well as down and basically you agreed with the tour company to pay a specific price.

A similair situation happened to us last year with Thomas Cook, we paid a deposit of £50 and a week later the total holiday cost dropped by £120. We booked through the branch in our home town as we prefer to give them the business provided they match the internet price. We were a bit miffed and asked if they would drop the price we had agreed and gave them the usual "we have always booked with you and have always been happy with the service" talk. Initially they wouldn't budge but we pointed out it would be cheaper for us to cancel our booking with them and then rebook online, they then agreed to drop our balance by £70.

I realise it is annoying that the holiday is now cheaper then when you booked but if you found it was £100.00 more expensive, would you be banging on their door offering to give them the extra £100.00
Lesson learned is see a price that you are happy with and then pay for it !

Im afraid its only the same as buying your christmas presents before christmas and then they're all cheaper in the january sales. Unfortunately if you cancel it now you would lose about 90% of your money, so you cant cancel and rebook at the cheaper price. If you were originally happy with the price just put it down to experience and look forward to your holiday at least you got what you wanted and they hadnt sold out.
