Didn't quite get round to listing 50 or so items as I hoped (played in the snow with my son and hubby instead, tut tut!) I've got 110 items listed and £22.64 of bids. Had a massive clear out earlier and have got loads of clothes to list, a lot of brand new stuff with tags so hopefully they should go well. Have

  • Evening all!!
The rest of items finished today, money in so far for Jan £165.66!!! I am so chuffed. After postage and costs I'm hoping to make about £130. I am really pleased with this. It must be the weather with the bidding, I can't believe what I have got for half of my listings, I wouldn't have paid it!
Going to go through some more stuff tomorrow, the girls sorted their DVD's out and have only given me Dora ones, a full set of 32 DVD's and a few odd ones. Going to list them all seperately I think, did look on Amazon but was a bit confused with the different charges. Think I'll stick to Ebay for now, maybe list the ones that don't sell on amazon later.
Everyone seems to be doing well so far, let's hope it stays that way.

As far as I'm aware if someone gifts a Paypal payment then they cannot charge it back; it's like paying cash - although maybe someone could correct me on this? There should be no limit (especially if it is £300) Why not ask them to pay direct into your bank account?

Do you mean eBay listing fees? It would be great if you can sell on a baby forum but with ebay you are selling to a large audience. I sold mine on ebay and the buyer collected and paid cash. I also listed on a free listing day so actually paid out very little to sell the item.

Re couriers - I use https://www.parcel2go.com if you check the website you can input the measurements and weight of your package (use bathroom scales for weighing larger items or pop down to the PO). You need to input your address and the address you are sending to and decide what day and between what times and they come and collect from your house. You print off the label and attach it to your parcel. If you sign up through Quidco or Topcash (and some others) then you could get £4 cashback for your first parcel.

How are you sending the item? Is it signed for? How much feedback does the buyer have? And how much are they paying for the item? Depending on the responses I may or may not do as they ask or I may tell them my reasons for refusing and perhaps suggest an alternative payment so that Paypal rules don't go against me if the item gets lost ;)

Ooops sorry, not very much help.

I've had this before and was a bit reluctant to send the item (although my item was cheap). I did go by the feedback they had received but I think if you are concerned tell the buyer you would rather send it to the original address. I think a lot of people ask for items to be delivered to their work address. Do you think it could be that?

Just haven't had the energy today to do anything re eBay; think I'm too nervous with all the packing I am going to have to do after the listings finish tomorrow. Currently have 33 items with bids at £205 and think there is plenty more scope for that to go up. Feel sick at the number of watchers I have on the items. .

Wow - well done Floxxie! I had 10 items finish yesterday (Yet to add sales to my signature - only trying to add profit so got to work it out!!) and thats enough to take to post office. Ended up posting 15 at the Post office yesterday and it was all quite stressful with 2 children in tow! Although - I must say the woman serving was lovely and helpful considering the queue that was forming behind me!

Must definately add new items today...Just added a coupon I received, I already had one listed so it was nice and easy to just copy the listing!
  • I am now back as a Business seller, I have some stock I want to list, obviously I want to make some profit so is there a % I can take off to cover fees ie. I buy something for £5, I list it at say £12, what % can I take off that would cover fees so I know roughly how much profit I'll make as I know there are different percentages for FVF and Paypal fee.

Is there any easy way to work out fees?

Didn't know how to word this but hope it makes sense.
