I've always jumped at the chance of a direct bank transfer mrscmr and have done quite a few in my time especially from abroad.

If you think about when you send a cheque, your account and sort code are on there along with your name and people quite happily pop them in the post.

As a buyer Paypal is the safest way to pay really in case the item turns up and is not as described, then at least you have a chance of getting your money back. Someone on the Ebay Board is having problems as they bought a ring for £200 and it was not as described and the seller wanted a Bank Transfer as payment so now they can't file a claim with Paypal to get their money back as they didn't pay with Paypal and the seller will not refund.

Sold a pair of Jane Norman jeans.... easy you would think....
Errrr no. now please bear in mind that I am a hoarder.. I have lots of clothes that I have kept still at a bedroom in my moms house before I got married (so that is some 10 years ago!) So I am gradually ebaying them all, so I can recoup a little bit of the money. So I list these jeans explain that they were purchased from Jane Norman all be it many years ago, Post out yesterday via 1st recorded post, they arrive today buyer emailed me to say that she has taken them to Jane Norman & that the assistant has said that they were never on sale by Jane Norman & are fake !!!! I am confused to say the least as I didn't sell these for a lot of money??? So they have suggested that I would be better to give them a refund as ebay would find in there favour anyway!
    Y oh y??
To say I am feeling lower than a snakes belly is an understatement...
    Any advice gratefully recieved!

I have offered a refund on safe return on the original item. They haven't commented on that ???

    Thanks

GB... you know what.... people are rubbish.

how the hell are they supposed to be fake! they might be really old.. it might be that the useless assistant is too young to even know the style of the jeans. who the hell would fake jane norman jeans !!!!!!! refund the loser buyer and forget about it.

  • Don't refund until they send them back, if they file a claim with Paypal they will have to send them back via trackable delivery and won't be refunded by Paypal for return postage so will be out of pocket themselves.

As mrscmr says, I really don't think anyone would bother faking Jane Norman jeans as they are not that expensive. She/he is trying it on. Tell them if they want a refund they have to send them back first and do not refund until they do. What kind of person would take jeans to a shop to find out if they were real or not unless they were designer? Thats ridiculous!
