I did quite well on the FLD, about £100 in total and it was all things i've relisted a hundred times so i'm very happy. going to relist the ones that didn't sell just now.

Ummm what do you do when you have a collect only item and the person pays by Paypal but then appears to assume that you are sending it to them?

Play naive, ask them politely when they intend to collect.

You obviously run the risk of the paypal on collection scam as well, but I can't see what else you can do, it is always a risk with collection only items.

I think that I may give up on ebay, 2 large pieces of furniture, for collection. I didn't say that they had to be collected within a specific time, just to be paid for within 4 days, but I did say payment on collection preferred & collection asap. The first sold on 1st, then buyer emailed me to say they will be in the area on the 14th & will collect then. Unfortunately the only bidder.
The second sold on 4th, the courier they use is going away for the weekend so will let me know when it will be collected. They didn't know that I wanted it out quickly, I did say that as it's a wardrobe that I can't get up my stairs as stated in the listing it could be a hint that it's in the way. They are a business & state that their collection items have to be gone within 7 days.
I listed these before my boy Herbert got sick & had to go but I've had to use my 2 weeks benefit on the cremation & donation to the PDSA. So can't pay any bills, my first month on DMP. How wonderfully great.
People really really pi55 me off.
Thanks TMD & Floxxie, he's sadly my third in 2 years now. When I was really quite unwell he looked after me & because I find it difficult to go out he was always with me, it feels as though a part of me's missing. I often don't see anyone for days on end so he was my friend, the only one really. I do have another one I got her a couple of months ago & she's lovely but she's not him.
Anyway now I'm upset again. So will go stick pins in a wax effigy of crap furniture buyers on ebay.

    Hi Hermum

It is so hard losing a pet. Someone posted a poem (on another forum) when our dog was put to sleep, it is sad so hope you don't mind me posting it.

ON THE LOSS OF A DEAR FRIEND

If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand -
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day more than all the rest
Your love for me must stand the test

We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer so -
The time has come, please let me go.

Take me to where my needs they'll tend
And please stay with me to the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve, it must be you
Who has this painful thing to do.
We've been so close we two these years
Don't let your heart hold back the tears.

Thank you TMD, I can't attempt to read it yet, I've just had to do something with a photo & of course his pics were the first ones to come up. Sobbed again for the last several hours.
Has Mrs moved now? I see she doesn't post in her diary now, unless she has in the past few days.

Research- check completed listings and see if the item is likely to sell. If there are lots of similar things with no sales then charity shop it.

I used to sell books I don't so much anymore as the market has died. However I am surprised how many people are trying to flog common chart paperbacks at say £1.50 with £2.25 postage when that same paperback is £3 delivered from Amazon or £3.50 brand new in Asda.
