I've got 2 people who haven't paid me for things, I filed an NPB for one as they didn't get back to me when I e-mailed, the other one I'm giving until tomorrow to reply back to me before I open a dispute, the last one was 10 days ago so have given them more than enough time. I don't mind if this one doesn't pay as it didn't go for as much as I hoped so am hoping to relist it for more money.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Got a neutral yesterday, you know I don't mind if people are unhappy with an item but surely it would be nicer to e-mail and say and give the seller chance to rectify any problems rather than just leaving neutral or negative feedback.
It is this new feedback system that is putting me off Ebay, why is it only buyers can give stars or marks for things and sellers are not allowed. A seller should be able to leave neg or neutral if a buyer doesn't respond or pay for an item and we should be able to leave stars for buyers to say whether they paid quickly or not.
Once I am out of debt I don't think I shall be using Ebay anymore, it has changed so much in the 7 years I've been using it and it's getting worse and the new trial of feedback is even worse, asking them to give marks out of 10 for things like did it arrived before xxx date.
On a downer today!!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
sorry to hear you are having a downer TMD. I am a bit too. No contact as yet from my Big Lego buyer.
I am in two minds about Ebay, it is great and sort of convenient for the odd sale and I would have sold my sons lego at a car boot sale for a couple of pounds so it has given me a wider audience and I haven't had to move off the sofa!!
There is a lot of pfaffing though and like you say the buyer has an unfair advantage.
We are debt free but its trying to stay that way that has me wanting to try and do something more with ebay. We're supposed to be self employed but more like unemployed at the moment. Just need to come up with some ideas on what to sell. Everything seems to be well covered.
Anyway, hope you pick yourself up, dust yourself down...:)0 -
Thanks DeeDee
At least the sun is shining today, can get my lighter coat out to wear to pick the kids up.
I just sell children's clothing and children's character clothing on my Business ID. I've been selling swimsuits too and have quite a few finishing tonight, things are so slow on Ebay at the moment.
Hope your Lego buyer gets in touch soon. I'm still waiting to hear back from my buyer in France, if I don't hear by tomorrow I'll just send the dresses in separate packages.
Enjoy the rest of your day.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Oooer!
Totally showing my lack of experience now, my big bidder is in Hong Kong! with a rating of 6! I have emailed him to talk about postage 'cos £3.25 isnt going to get far. If there is no reply then there was a close second at £140 from Germany who didnt have a rating it just said (private). Was it all too good to be true?
Having been to France a fair bit, their children's clothes prices are extremely high even their pound shop is a 2E shop! They must be benefiting more by buying clothes from uk. They don't seem as switched on to Ebay just yet. They would be a great market once they do if the exchange rate keeps on the way it is.0 -
Hi all. Haven't been on here for ages but I'm still ebaying and not doing too bad. I went to a nearly new sale on Sat which was full of kids stuff so I bought some really nice kids clothes (a lot were designer!) Spent a tenner and cam out with loads and have put that all on ebay. Last night I went to a swishing party, it was so much fun and I would highly recomend it. A friend of mine set it up at the local church hall. You bring a bag of good quality clothes that you no longer wear, you hand them in and everything is laid out on tables. There was about 50 of us women in total. You get 15 minutes to browse and then you have to stand back and when the whistle blows you grab what you can!! I got some fab stuff for ebay - DKNY jeans, a Zara top, tops from Oasis and Warehouse, trousers from Next and Monsoon and loads more!!! Hoping to make some money on that lot!!Sealed pot member #1950 - £44.79

There is a problem with allowing world wide bids on expensive items, how are you going to send them tracked per paypal requirements? Standard airmail covers up to £39 of loss so for smaller items that is all you really need as you can refund a buyer and just reclaim your loss from Royal Mail, but for dearer items you need both the insurance and the tracking really. International signed for doesn't track outside the UK so even using that and paying an extra £2.20 for insurance is not good enough. Airsure is a little better, it sometimes tracks to delivery, but is not guaranteed and again you can add an additional £2.20 to cover losses up to £500. However airsure is limited to a handful of countries. Then of course you have the weight issues as airmail only goes up to 2kg before it starts to ge a little complicated.
In some weeks 75% of my stuff goes overseas, btu I do limit it to items under £39 rather than take risks. You may nee dot look at coriers for this sort of value, there is a long thread on the ebay board that might help.
Be careful how you proceed with this, you have FVFs to pay already of £14 so you need to be careful how you proceed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
