I'm not doing too bad on the Business ID, have sold quite a few of my Wholesale items was going to order some more but will wait until Friday to see if they list anything else Character as they haven't done the last two weeks.
Off to play Bingo again now, doubt I'll win big again.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Well done on the bingo win TMD! I won £50 on there last week and I was overjoyed!
After a bit of an ebay lull I now have 8 items listed, 3 with bids, 1 sold and paid for and I'm waiting on the same person to purchase another one of my items so I can combine postage for them. I'm pleased with that and hopefully I'll get a few more listed this week too. And the two items on the way out of the house are enormous and bulky so I'll be glad to be rid of them!
Keep at it everyone - if you get listing on 10 day auctions now they'll end after payday so people will be more flush then I hope!0 -
I thought Airsure was tracked outside of the UK too, thats why its better than just using International Signed For. Did I get that wrong?
I've had a lot of worldwide buyers asking for postage quotes on my current listings and am still dubious about Italy, its the only place I have had problems with other than one UK buyer. But I am still going to let them bid as I will get my money back from RM if it does go missing I suppose
Soolin - that sounds bad. I hope no one was hurt
One of the POs near me has a grumpy little old man in it but once you get to know him he's actually quite sweet. Most of the locals don't care for him but once you get past the initial frostiness he is nice. I would like some self service tills, they sound like a great time saving idea
This is from RM website:
We track all Airsure® items until they leave the UK and then the item is handed over to the destination country's postal service as a priority item. In most circumstances you will also be able to get electronic confirmation of delivery via Track & Trace.
So not a 100% guarantee and reliant on foreign postal systems. I've never used the service myself as adding £4.50 onto Airmail price is likely to cost more thant eh item they are purchasing.
Yes (main) couriers are trackable overseas although I have only used one a couple of times for Austria and America ; there is a thread on the eBay thread about choosing a courier.
When I was very naive about eBay and postage, I sent a £200 Lego set to Italy on Airmail; it arrived a couple of days later
Soolin, that sounds awful; my local Post Office was held up by armed gunmen - the police were called but only arrived after they had escaped. Thank fully nobody was hurt but the P.O. was closed for a few days.
gingababe - wow :T:T
tmd, don't get addicted to the bingo!Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
I got back from the post office this afternoon, and as expected, someone paid about 3 minutes after I left the house. Grrr indeed.JohnnieStar wrote: »Thanks guys, when I went back on I could take action so closed it and relisted it. I have put a note on the bottom asking people not to bid if feedback is under so much, because Im sick of things like this happening.
Completely lost - wow self service machines?! Ive never heard of those! Just remember you're keeping them in a job
x
Anyway I went in today carrying three large bags filled with parcels... did them all on the self serve, filled out my own proof of posting, and the lady at the desk was grunting because she had to check the addresses. I give up.I trundled down to my local PO today and there were police everywhere and one of those incident tape barriers round the place.
I could see the person who runs the shop, he looked very drawn and upset but I couldn't see his wife, the post mistress. I tried catching his eye so I could ask whether she was OK, but there were just too many police around.
I walked into town and used that PO and asked them if they knew what happened, but they said all they knew was it was something 'bad'. Oh dear, I do hope everyone is OK.
I was strangely unsettled when I got home and decided to do something about the dreadful state of my porch. It's quite large and I get lazy and we all throw our shoes in there and I've got boxes and bag loads of books which I've never got round to sorting. I read somewhere that in feng shui the entry to your house represents your life, so if it is cluttered with things you never get round to doing it is unlucky. I sent son out to buy a small pine shelf rack with umbrella stand, cleaned and scrubbed the porch and then put the every day shoes out tidily. I put a couple of nice welcoming plants out there as well and have bought the piles of books into the dining room so I cna either list them or dump them tomorrow. Some have been out there so long they have cobwebs on.

Ok help reqiured....
Just actually had somone who wants to buy something but she is in Australia and needs the item by next friday, it's only a normal packet (under £39) and not expensive but unlikely to get there in time if sent normal airmail i think.
What are your thoughts will it arrive? Does anyone know anything about express postage to Australia, she is happy to pay additional monies but i have no idea where to start looking and everything looks hugely expensive
Thankyou LOADS for any help

^I often feel that way too when I hear of something bad happening to someone else - I get a sudden burst of motivation to do things I've been putting off. Funny how our minds work.

No but I thought I might walk up there later today even though I 've used RM online to print postage on the few items i have today and will be taking them to the sorting office instead. I just want to know that the post mistress is OK.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Floxxie - I definitely won't get addicted to Bingo, I was getting quite annoyed the other day when I kept getting one left on the card for a full house and someone else was beating me, I'm only doing it every day for the free £5, after that it will not be used. I appreciate my money too much!!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Hi sleepless, the bottom line is that you cannot guarantee of delivery as it is out of your hands (unless you are planning to deliver it personally?) You can only quote expected dates, whether you are using RM or a courier. I would tell her this and see what she says - and perhaps give her some idea of the prices to send as well.
P.S. Airsure isn't available for Australia (in fact looking at the list of countries, it really is limited). International signed for would take 5 days +. Looking at a courier side, DHL express quote up to 5 days.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060
