  • Clearly the Lord God Almighty is at fault here for creating a world in a mere 7 days, as rushing the job led to the inevitable shoddy work and poor climate. The Lord should have taken out professional indemnity insurance ...

Martin, have you tried a good hot toddy?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A823439 has one recipe & I see someone else shares a family belief that a Bowler Hat is called for....
I hope you feel better soon!
  • Get well soon! Sounds like you need some garlic, preferably raw (your loved one needs to eat it as well, to be fair), & left 5 mins to oxidise after crushing - it goes well in curries, salads, chilli sauce..chillis r good too....rooibos tea....alfalfa....a little Woods's Rum in the evening...
  • this is long overdue for martin's attention.
we bought a house with lpg central heating installed and have not had a delivery since oct 5 2009. we have virtually no gas left, although calor have £181 of our money from our direct debits. they have told us we would get a delivery today, but this changed to friday after i phoned to say there had been no delivery.
we have virtually no option but to accept calor's price, but now we realise that we also have to accept their delivery timetable. we are totally without control.
it doesn't seem to make any difference when i say my husband has ms and today has been prescribed steroids and antibiotics for a severe chest infection. i've just been told to conserve the gas i've got.
i'd also add re the boiler scrappage scheme that the boiler we have is 25 years old and we approached calor for a quote for a new boiler and to replace and move 4 radiators. bear in mind we live in a 2 bedroom bungalow. the quote was an unbelievable £8000. it makes the £400 scrappage scheme look a bit ineffective as an incentive.
this whole system is out of place in this consumer led generation. can you help martin i wonder?
  • Hi, i hope you all dont mind me posting here, i will give you all a tip, take cinnamon to help combat colds and flu, i was listening to a dj say how he takes powdered cinnamon on either cereal or in say a hot drink or even in cooking, i use half a teaspoon a day on my cereal, the benefits are it combats cold and flu, regulates diabetes so good for type 2 diabetes, regulates cholesterol, boosts immune system, so Martin, try this, i didnt take the cinnamon for 2 weeks and was really poorly with a chest infection, i told my doctor that i had been taking the half teaspoon a day and he said start taking it again as it has alot of benefits xxxx
  • I forgot to say the cinnamon regulates blood sugar levels too xxxx
