New central heating + boiler cost

Options
I am thinking of installing a new central heating system with condensing boiler or condensing conventional boiler (water tank in loft). I have approx 10-11 radiaters to fit plus change pipes. The property is around 100 yrs old (mid terrace) with large rooms and high ceiling.
Now can you experts tell me how much it will all cost (roughly)? I am having couple of people coming over for quotes but wanted some advice of what to expect.

Many Thanks & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL:j

  • Hi

A location might be helpful. Any MSEers in that area might give you a rough idea.

Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)

I've had one guy few weeks back who quoted me £4800. This is with top of the range boiler (Bosch) with 11 radiaters and new pipes. I think his labour charge is around £1800 - £2000. He was saying because we live here so it's difficult to work in occupied property. Most of my radiaters will be big size.
  • We changed our old boiler (not a combi) for a new condensing combi boiler (Vaillant Ecotec Pro28) with 8 new thermostatic radiator valves, new diameter pipework for gas supply to the boiler removal of pipes etc and it cost £2900. we live in Berkshire.

So basically mine should cost around £3500 (extra radiators)

if all the pipework is to be replaced then i would think £3500 is to cheap for a 11 rad system using a worcester bosch. there will be a hell of a lot of pipe to be fitted.
you need 3 quotes then ask british gas to quote for a nasty shock.
If i read correct then the quote of £2900 is for just putting trv onto existing rads.

Av got 2 guys coming over the weekend so I'll update the quotes, but I think it will be around £4500

I think some of the higher cost in that for you will be in the rads? Correct me if i'm wrong but bigger rooms and high ceilings = bigger rads (higher btu) = more cost?
