Best way to get to.......

Hi Everyone

I need to get to the Charing Cross area in London from the Wirral area (Liverpool Lime Street and Chester are the nearest main stations to me) on 9th January.

We have a car but don't know the London area so the main problems with that are parking and the congestion charge. OH reckons we could drive there with a full tank of fuel which would cost about £60.

I'm open to all suggestions, train, car, bus or coach (or a combination of these) does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to get there? (The cheaper the better!!!)

If you want ot use the car this link will take you to a list of tube stations with car parks along with the cost (generally dirt cheap). You can then take the underground with which ever option takes your fancy.

The other option is to find a hotel near a tube station where you can park for free.

I would just say that you're looking at about 5 hours to drive without traffic (M6, M5, M40, A40) so it's rather a lot to go there and back in one day. I wouldn't ever consider it to be honest. Trains would be the option I'd take.
